Hi, just got the phone for 2 weeks.
need some help as I am new to Symbian phone.

I have been trying to install Java games but it doesn't run.

I noticed in the previous disccussion about installing some stuff b4 we can use software like Frings & etc.
Does that apply to all G900?

Java should run without hacks/mods. Just get the right applications/games (eg K800 compatible). What are you trying and doesn't work?

@norbi

I tried youtube(mobile version(3GP)) before the firmware update and it didn't work.

After the update i tried both mobile and desktop versions of youtube.. none works. After that I tried website with music/video streaming like imeem, myspace, etc nothing works!

Something is wrong with data streaming in this phone

regarding my G900's battery life, i just heard a good friend of mine saying that his N73 battery took about 3months worth of recharge/discharge to reach about 8-9days of working without a recharge... i'm looking forward to seeing my G900's battery 3months from now.

Well, I tried 2 games, think is the Bomberman & one more can't remember.
Then give up, anywhere I could get games for my G900.

By the way, read the review on the phonearena, really dissappointing to see such bad review abt the phone

I think that you should install MIDlet permissions changer mod by swmail, download here
http://www.agathosyne.de/files_ext/midlet_perms.zip

I have this mod on P1 and G900, and I can install and play java games with no problems. All (or at least most) java games for 240x320 screen resolution should work on the G900.

Btw, does somebody know how to enter the service menu on the G900? Is it possible since it doesn't have the jog dial?
I don't need to enter it right now, I just want to know.

Is this not already on the G900?
Settings --> Security --> MIDlet accounts?

Thanks, ares.

cableguy, no, it's not the same. This is a mod created by sw mail:
"The program is intended to change the permissions of MIDlets (including not signed) on UIQ3 smartphones."

When you press the volume, all volumes should come up (SMS, Alarm, Media, ring). Try restarting the phone, if it doesn't work, change it. And reply with what did you do (working/got new one).

Ah, I'm so relieved! Went back to the shop I bought my G900 from today, and they replaced my defective unit with a brand new one. This one works perfectly (at least, as far as I can tell) Everything seems to be working, except for the wifi which I haven't really had the chance to test yet. Touch wood
