What do you guys think would be a nice port from the SGS3? I would like more shortcuts in the drop down bar.

After much tinkling around with RR Ive come to the conclusion
that MIUI is still KING.Speedwise,performance wise,everything wise
Just updating now to MIUI 2.6.8.

So pleased I got that Galaxy Note envy out of my system.
After spending 2 days with it the envy is gone.
Not for me.
Two weeks into my upgrade and I still havent thought
of upgrading.AM I SICK I WONDER.

The peace and calmness of MIUI.

Don't know why I ever switch to these AOKP/CM9/SlimICS ect kinda roms.After a day or two I always hate the look of it.

@Hobbs
You love changing your phone don't you
I went through a similar phase with my C901 (loved that phone)
Customized EVERYTHING on it downloaded every flash menu on the web ~500? every custom theme, layout, new firmware, camera mods, light effects, patches, custom splash screens, boot animations................ the list goes on (it really does )
[brings back good memories of esato ~2 years ago ]

Unfortunately this lead to modding it so much I lost track of it all, the mods installed didn't suit eachother, UI graphics were way off and the phone memory was so full of flash menus that I couldn't even send a text
Now, I prefer to have a really simplistic clean look to it, free of all the crazy mods I used to find cool (they just made the phone look messy) The stock look of the phone is great for me - with a few simple clean mods. I can't even stand more than 1 notification in the bar

So I understand why you have changed back to MIUI. However, I don't like the iPhone look (would make others think I was an Apple wannabe when our device is much better )
At the moment I am still using RR1.9, but limit the amount of stuff I have on each home screen, keeping it really simple is what I love, one widget per screen, calender... to.do list etc. IMO this gives a much cleaner look than iOS (as all you see is an app draw) and hence why I prefer android to iOS

@skblakee
Would love to see the video minimization feature ported to our S2

I don't recall which of you wrote about this but I am finding that my phone is running a bit hot around the camera lens as well. Suspect that some feature is running unnecessarily. I checked and found that the phone spent quite a bit of time running in the 1200 range.

Any suggestions?

mriley The only thing Im a fan of when it comes to the iPhone is the icons.I just put all my apps in a new folder called Apps and that sorts out them been spread out over home screens.I also like the fact that you get an update every Friday.

Mine ran hot randomly yesterday, and even when i plugged it in to the charger it lost power, a simple reboot fixed it, BUT what i suggest is checking Samsung's built-in taskmanager 1st as it shows what apps are using a lot of power, if nothing's there then go to Settings -Accounts&Sync, and check each account as you may find that one of them maybe syncing or trying to sync a large amount of data.

Mriley
You with your C901 is like me with my Nokia N81 and SE K850, i customised both so ridiculously that my N81 would end up getting into boot loops randomly and i actualy fixed my K850 by modding it, never had BROD again, i still have the K850, its running beautifuly, i removed most mods, and just have custom camera and audio drivers now, i miss those days though.

The video window thing from GS3 can be done on the GS2 with an app called Stick It, it works almost exactly as on GS3, but be warned, playing HD videos with it taxes the CPU, my phone ran extremely hot while watching an HD vid, but smaller vids e.g. VGA videos arent an issue, i guess in the GS3 its a well optimized feature with the CPU/GPU.

Just installed Resurrection Remix v2.3.Some nice changes from v2.2This mans roms are becoming pure gold.Nice job Westcrip.
Has the latest Siyah kernel and everything is flying.Also he's added the SGS3 launcher which is slightly modded.Also the installation is slightly different with the Full Aroma installer experience which allows you to customise your installation.

Overall a pretty fantastic rom.Hoping he doesn't get himself a S3.

I think I need to upgrade, I'm still running 1.9 and the battery life isn't great, ill see what 2.3 is like.

Btw - I'm using SuperVideo to get a pop-up window to watch videos with, it's great for me, always wanting to do 3 things at once thanks for the suggestion tsepz
