@jladonis935, don't say stupid or you will be the stupid one...
The point is releasing a flagship phone with a spec. that is found in 3 - 6 months old phones is the problem... specially knowing that that phone will stay for 1 year...
Take the full picture then judge...

Looking at all these conflicting rumours, I'm just wondering if the idea of Z3x in June with 810 then Z4 in late 2015 with 820 is correct, thought I don't think that 820 will be ready for a phone release in September...

Well, they will not be late because all android flagship phones have the 810 onboard. The 820 is not yet available and because of Qualcomm's history of delaying the 810, i believe that it will not be released this year. Admit it all flagship will have the same specs. Only Samsung is different with their SOC but the rest of the specs are the same like 3 gb ram, FHD/QHD screen. I guess the best Sony shoud do is release a 6plus alternative a Z4 Ultra aside from its normal and compact flagship. With the Z3 i believe they created a product at par with the competition and the Z4 would be much better. They just really lack marketing push. They should hire the best advertising agency and top models to do the advertisement. They should advertise it as a Premium Product like Dolce and Ck.

I've been here for a number of years and have realised that if Sony release something early, people complain and wait for the competition to release their phones then pass judgement. If Sony release something later, people complain saying that everyone has got a phone now so why bother with Sony? Apple release the iPhone months later than everyone so why is it a crime for Sony to do the same?
Think about the marketing aspect this time around. Skyfall was the most successful Bond movie ever and was praised by everyone under the sun. Spectre is building the hype, they already unveiled the Aston Martin and they're using the Jaguar supercar too. The Danial Craig era of movies is a major step up from the previous junk and the modern Bond has a much better image in terms of movie quality, style and generally being more serious. No matter how many Apple and Samsung adverts you're going to see in the coming months, the image of 007 holding a Z4 in his Aston Martin while drinking his Martini while shooting some scumbag will trump all of that.
If the Z4 uses the 810 and stays cool, it'll trump the HTC. If the Z4 has an SD slot and has great battery life, it'll make people think twice about the S6. Make it beautiful and put it in Bond's hand then everyone will notice it for as long as people are talking about the movie. Make a good phone Sony and the rest will take care of itself.

Waterproofing is one of a hell feature most people tend to ignore! If it is something useless or easy to implement, why not the rest of flagships implement waterproofing on their elegant designs?
The list can go one with details beyond screen, ram and cpu.

Sony has announced its financial results for fiscal third-quarter 2014, ending December 31, 2014. Sales and operating revenues were JPY2.566 trillion (US$21.213 billion), an increase of 6.5% on year.
The company said the increase is primarily due to the favorable impact of foreign exchange rates, an increase in Mobile Communications segment sales reflecting an increase in unit sales of smartphones, a significant increase in Devices segment sales due to the strong performance of image sensors, and a significant increase in Game & Network Services (G&NS) segment sales reflecting strong performance of PlayStation 4.
Operating income increased JPY93.2 billion on year to JPY182.1 billion. This significant increase was primarily due to a significant improvement in the operating results of the Devices, Home Entertainment & Sound, G&NS, and Imaging Products & Solutions (IP&S) segments.
In the mobile communications segment, sales increased 28.7% on year to JPY429 billion, primarily due to an increase in smartphone unit sales, an improvement in product mix and the favorable impact of foreign exchange rates.
For the G&NS segment, sales increased 16.8% on year to JPY531.5 billion. The increase was primarily due to an increase in PS4 hardware unit sales, the favorable impact of foreign exchange rates and a significant increase in network services revenues, partially offset by a decrease in PlayStation 3 hardware and software sales. Sales to external customers increased 19.7% on year.
In the Home Entertainment and Sound (HE&S) segment, sales increased 2.3% on year (a 5% decrease on a constant currency basis) to JPY413.3 billion. This increase was primarily due to the favorable impact of foreign exchange rates and an increase in sales of TVs, partially offset by a decrease in Audio and Video sales. Unit sales of LCD TVs increased mainly due to a significant increase in North America and Europe, partially offset by a significant decrease in Latin America.

Maybe that's what the extra slot is for, that we've seen on the leaked pics of Z4 cases, it's a Bond death-ray IR blaster to wipe out evil scumbags. That would be a feature to stand out from the crowd.
Although you could probably burn people to death with the HTC 810 chip

So what, same happened with Z1, then Z2 went bell exclusive (just like the original Z). I won't be surprised if Z4 is Bell exclusive again, but really, Z1's sales were abysmal, with 60+% return rate at Rogers.
