If the next premium uses older soc then it is pretty much worthless to me. Not paying premium price for old shit very sick of this infact. Rather have them delay the release by a couple months.

i think it will be like XZ Premium this time, very early announce and late release
my guess is 2018 September announce and first batch available at late November, and early December will be totally available
Then non-Premium series will be using new sensor with 835 and available at 2018 early October

I believe Samsung has paid Qualcomm alot more money to snap all initial production. Nevertheless, if there is an event of lower sales units, Samsung will make even more loss by this move.

Insecure? Bully? More money? They're just big and popular. They know they'll sell a lot of phones so they need a lot of SoCs. It's that simple. What other choice did they have? Delay the S9 for the US and China to make it easier for their competitors?

Qualcomm might as well just become part of samsung at this point. If they intend to give most of their supply just to one company every year, and do business this way. No way I would pay flagship price for any flagship phone that uses second tier SoC.
