I'd pee myself with laughter if the Paris event yielded nothing a regional variant of a a low-end handset.
Obviously it won't. It'll most likely be Z Ultra or honami or this mystery Z2 or a variant.
and, I'm still very dubious about 4K. I don't think it'll be in there.

Not really recommended, cracks may appear in the glass with extreme change in temperature.

I wonder... if Honami is going to be waterproof, dustproof and shockproof, I wonder if Sony will also make it freezeproof like their rugged cameras
Canadian winters can be cold and it'd be nice to not have to worry about your phone if you leave it outside for a while.

Yeah, their Cybershot TF1 and TX30 (amongst others) are dustproof, shockproof, waterproof and freezeproof

walking from a well heated indoor space to -20C outside environment is not unusual for Canadian winter. wonder how phones are going to stand against that

Optimus G2 will have 3GB of RAM so Honami will be behind the curve in terms of hardware just like every other Sony flagship.
btw Why do people say things like" Sony have always been bad in updates", "every Sony flagship has last year's hardware" etc. While Sony Mobile is just around 1 year old. You can't judge a one year old company by their past.

Umm... what in the blue hell on Android requires that much RAM anyways? Not saying more isn't necessarily better, but I'm just curious what can really take advantage of all that RAM.
EDIT.
BTW, if you're going to accuse Sony of having Honami be behind the curve, it's worth remembering everything else Honami brings to the table:
S800 processor at 2.2 - 2.3 GHz
Adreno 330 graphics
2GB RAM
16/32 GB internal memory with mico SD expansion
5" 1080p dislpay with triluminos tech. Supposedly with constrast ratio above 2000:1
X-reality engine
20MP 2/3" Exmor RS sensor
Mobile BIONZ processor
Clip-on lenses
f2.0 28mm equivalent Sony G Lens
Camera shutter button
Camera has steadyshot tech, and can go up to ISO 12800
4K video recording
3000 mAh battery - Sony expects battery life to measured in days, rather than hours
Metal + glass body
NFC and LTE
IP58 dust/water resistance + shock resistance rating
Approx 9-10mm thick
Stereo speakers
S-Master MX audio
IR blaster
Headphone port that does not require flap
Magnetic charging dock connector
Lanyard hole

Google are planning on making future versions of Android more RAM friendly anyway. To be honest 1GB of RAM would be enough with the S800 and Adreno 330 pulling the strings all 3GB of RAM is going to do is use more power with out any benifit.

I think it would be a good idea if Sony puts their 56 inch 4k OLED TV on sale in US. They surely can make 20 of them and if they price it like 70000 no more than 20 they have to make.
