I've been here for a number of years and have realised that if Sony release something early, people complain and wait for the competition to release their phones then pass judgement. If Sony release something later, people complain saying that everyone has got a phone now so why bother with Sony? Apple release the iPhone months later than everyone so why is it a crime for Sony to do the same?
Think about the marketing aspect this time around. Skyfall was the most successful Bond movie ever and was praised by everyone under the sun. Spectre is building the hype, they already unveiled the Aston Martin and they're using the Jaguar supercar too. The Danial Craig era of movies is a major step up from the previous junk and the modern Bond has a much better image in terms of movie quality, style and generally being more serious. No matter how many Apple and Samsung adverts you're going to see in the coming months, the image of 007 holding a Z4 in his Aston Martin while drinking his Martini while shooting some scumbag will trump all of that.
If the Z4 uses the 810 and stays cool, it'll trump the HTC. If the Z4 has an SD slot and has great battery life, it'll make people think twice about the S6. Make it beautiful and put it in Bond's hand then everyone will notice it for as long as people are talking about the movie. Make a good phone Sony and the rest will take care of itself.
I'm sorry but I laughed when I read this part, you are setting your expectations far too high mate. Spectre is one movie, Apple appear in hundreds of popular TV shows without even paying a cent, Samsung are ensuring their brand appears just as much and are also sponsoring a lot of events and TV shows globally. The Z4 appearing in James Bond may trump them for like a week or so, I think Aston Martin stand to gain more with that once off Aston they made for the movie.

I haven't stated my expectations, I'm saying that a certain type of advert will get my attention and cool people like myself will also be attracted to such an advert. In TV shows it's a quick flash of the product and that's it, I can't ever recall seeing a Samsung in anything if I'm honest but Samsung also sell TVs and fridges so maybe that's their focus. Yes, iPhone is found in many shows but it passes us by. Shows like Revenge have iPhones everywhere but the programme is rubbish and appeals to certain people who watch that trash. Music videos are different. Don't know if people remember the cool wall on old Top Gear, Bentley is cool up until Wayne Rooney picks one up....catch my drift?

Sony has announced (again) the Xperia J1 Compact for japanese market, which basically is a rebranded Z1C in different colors. But I wonder why??? If I'm not mistaken this is the third Xperia Z1 Compact being re-announced for Japan. There was the original Compact which was released before the european Z1C. Than the Xperia A-Something (forgot its name) which was a Z1C with plastic back instead of glass for Japan. And now this.

Xperia J1 compact is the first unlocked,unbranded smartphone from Sony in Japan.Most,likely they had some leftover 4.3" panels and snapdragon 800 processors given that their sales have fallen short from their estimations.If it wasn't for that,they would have chosen something like z3 compact or even m4 aqua,which would make more sense since their newer devices.
