Well maybe

actually I think the problems with the K750 are memory related timing/access and this is due to the addition of a second memory (memory stick) which the K700 doesnt have. I am fairly sure that the K750 cant properly manage on board and memory stick together. Someone will tell me my hunch is wrong but I dont care.

BTW - I repeated the loss of memory stick problem. It is when the phone is undocked whilst the PC is on. The memory stick is a drive on the PC and when I undock it sometimes doesnt reattach to the phone. When it happened I used the service menu to interrogate the memory stick. It said it was "unmounted" as opposed to not installed or installed. Basically if you dock your phone at work or home then at some point when you go out/away from your desk the memory stick may not be there and, if your ringtones are on the memory stick then the phone doesnt ring when someone calls. Press the volume buttons in Standby to see phone status. (FW R1L).

There is no point of phoning SE-UK as Michael gives the same cobweb answer every time. I have told him of a problem, called back next day and described the problem again and guess what - he has never heard of it.

Does the W800 have memory stick or is the 1/2GB on board? If it is on board (with no memory stick) then I suspect the W800 will be a better bet.

Im fairly certain the w800 is pretty much the same as the k750 in most respects. The only difference i can see is that it looks slightly different and comes with nice headphones and a 512mb memory stick instead of the 64mb one. I would expect a few tweaks to the media player aswell.

Yeah - according to Mobile-review, the W800 has had its Media player interface changed but essentially its the same underneath. As we have heard, people have flashed their K750's with W800 firmware so their cant be major API changes!

so does flashing a k750 with w800 firmware give u a fully functional w800 in the k750 shell? I mean does it all work as it would on the w800? I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has tried to do this.

Have you tried clicking the "USB mass storage" (right lower side of winxp beside the clock) and stopping it before disconnecting the phone from the USB-DCU-60 cable? I think this one helps, and another thing...

maybe you were loading too much programs, the phone needs to be restarted (turn off then on) once in a while, much like our PC's. I only had the "memory stick" problem once, and since I restart the phone every morning (once daily), I never had the problem again....

hope this works, it worked for me.
