shotokan.. how do you know his info was insider info and not just rumor info he found while reading the web, like us? he's just an employee at a sony store, right?

Anyway, personally I trust it, it does not mean it is correct, and it is the docomo release, so release in Europe and selected Asian countries can be earlier, i guess they have to deal with different carriers everywhere.
OT
I also played with the RX 1R and RX100ii, and asked the VAIO owner-made desk to build me a ubuntu VAIO, but they said it is windows only. I replied "I understand, this is a question of time." but they did not seem to understand me. Maybe windows 8 lifts laptops sales better than what i thought after all.

Autumn: August 31, so Xperia z ultra may be announced by docomo arround that date if they agree to include it, I hope they will.
Winter: October 13, so this my expectation for the Japan market release date of Honami in 2013. Honami will be part of this collection, almost certain.

That's more like the reaction i was hoping from them
But yeah, ubuntu with touch screen, that sony could brand the way they want, would be both efficient and a good way to differentiate the VAIO.
Back to xperia, I also had a discussion about Ubuntu touch on Xperia. The person said there is already firefox os work underway, but nothing more than we already know. He recognised ubuntu touch would perform faster than android, i just hope there are many people like him in Sony, so we may see high end xperia running ubuntu touch when it is ready.
