imo you should wait for the p1, which must be faster than p990 and m600 due to more ram, a better fw(i think p1 fw is based on currently m600 fw, so it must be better)
or if you really want m600, i can't advice which one is better you since i haven't tested a p990

M600 was the best phone ever made before the birth of P1i so, choose one

I would like to ask M600 users who also have a chance to use P990. Is is true that m600 is slightly faster as P990 with latest FW? I am thinking of getting back to M600 as i was just given a very nice deal so i would like some infos on that.

Hi, all. This is my first post to the forum. I have an M600 since December 2006 and am really happy with it. I am not sure whether these questions have been posted by anyone else earlier, but if they have and have been answered, please excuse me.

1. In earlier SE phones ( I had a K700i) when the phone was in standby mode, with the screen blank, the clock was displayed in digital format. I know this clock is displayed in the P990i. Can anyone tell me if this can be done in the M600?
2. The k700i also displayed a new msg with an envelope and a display for any missed calls. There is no such display in the M600i. You have to bring the phone out of standby to check.
3. i have also noticed after the last (April 2007) upgrade that if you try to lock the phone by pressing the key to the left of the 0 key, I get a small p on the display and the phone does not lock. Anyone seen this?

Thanks

@radeep:
here are the answers to your questions:

1) No. Unfortunately the M600i does not have the standby clock feature.
2) Yes you have to bring the phone out of standby to check if you have any new message or a missed because of the absence of the standby clock.
3) I don't think the phone could ever be locked by pressing and holding that * key alone. You have to press the * key and then press the Right softkey which appears on the screen that says 'Lock keys'

Thanks, Nyb! I always use the key on the left to lock the keyboard. That feature always existed, but I just wondered!!

Yes, I've seen it on a friend's phone, though I never got around to trying to ask what the settings were.

@radeep, farid: you'll most probably find the settings in the 'Backlight' section of the Control Panel.or try reading the manual that came with the set...

Veil - you can recalibrate the stylus by going to control panel>other and running through the setup wizard. It seems to work differently from this menu to how it does on first startup
