With the N95 already out, an 8 Gig version on the way as well as the N82 which will also have a Xenon flash not to mention the new LG U990 out this October do you think SE will have made a bad choice releasing the K850 so late in the day.
A: NO!
Yeah I know what you mean about the sliders. I had an n95 myslef but the poor buidl quality made me sell it. RE the battery though, the USA one ships with a 1200 mah battery so these will be available soon aswell as standard with the N95 8 gig.
As for the N82 its a plain candy bar as is the K850. I dont realy see much difference between the 2 to be honst in terms of key and camera lay out. Your forgetting WIFI and all the rest.
Im sure the K850 will sell well but it will have to drop price quick to sell good as for the same money at release most people would want more features. QVGA just isnt good enough any more people want more than that.
Why? N95 is a little to late and will definately piss off a few users that purchased this in North & South America; and the few in Australia that also bought the Euro version. Battery life will STILL be an issue = 1 day full features usuage. Many have had loose slides which will become annoying. N82, sorry that is one UGLY phone, bar none! I though the N91 was bad but N82 horrible and designed to be different for the sake of it. Ergonomics is pretty bad. LG U990, does this have Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA? NOPE! Nor does either N95a/b. So for daily usuable features - not everyone wants/needs GPS - the K850i will come out on top.

K850 is still inferior to current N95 in terms of spec. And K850 is very late to market.

And why, exactly, is it inferior?

Advantages of n95 over k850:
-Screen (size+resolution)
-Video Recording
-GPS
-Browser capability
-3.5mm jack
-Wifi
-4 month market presence (time to work on fw update, drop the initial rush price)
k850i advantages:
-Triband hsdpa
-Xenon Flash
-Battery (albeit it may be more of a tossup when the 1200mah battery hits shelves)
----------
Tossups:
-Symbian vs SE UI
-Camera (let's wait for definitive production picture comparisons, but I will lean towards k850i in this department, especially because of the flash)
so it's 6 to 2.5
decisive victory, especially if, by the time the k850i comes out, the n95 is in the same price range...

why the resolution?
it's same damn QVGA resolution on both screens
plus k850's display being 2.2 inch instead of 2.6 on n95 means a better pixels/inch rate

You can't compare N95 with K850, is not fair. K850 is a cameraphone, and it should be compared with N82.
Anyway, N95 has very poor battery life, bad slider mechanism, bad construction (materials), and average MP3 and media player, is not the perfect phone in any way

Nokias biggest misstake with N95, was to put the gps build in. (it takes way to much battery). Nicklas Sivander

(one of the top design people who worked with P1) said that a gps takes to much battery to have in a cellphone. much better with a gps "puck", (works better and dont use battery of course). so i cant understand you guys who wondering why k850i dosent have a build in gps (its realy smart that

didnt do like Nokia, and create a phone who you must charge every single day (sometimes 2 times per day).

wow. Now if that isn't foolhardy homerism, I don't know what is.
Let me give you some parallel reasoning to this:

was to put useable features into the phone . (it takes way to much battery). Nicklas Sivander

(one of the top design people who worked with P1) said that
any new features in a phone takes to much battery to have in a cellphone. much better with a complete lack of features, where everything you want you can buy extra and attach it to the phone (works better and dont use battery of course). so i cant understand you guys who wondering why k850i
dosent have a any features what soever (its realy smart that

didnt do like Nokia, and create a phone who you must charge every single day (sometimes 2 times per day).

you think you funny ? (right or wrong; does N95 have bad batterylife ?
shouldnt be better if you didnt have to charge 1-2 times each day (my friends who have N95, have to charge his N95 sometimes 2 times each day. how bored do you think they are ? (ye, maybe im a SE fanboy, and maybe you are a Nokia fanboy. but get real man, what use to have a lot of features if they dosent work properley. (and please, dont say that N95 runs smoothly. it have so much problems then no other phone i know (except for N73 maybe)).
