I have just one question. I have quite a few entries in my K850's calender and am wondering if when using SEUS to update the phone. Will they still be on after updating or will I have to put everything back on again.
This is very important to for me to know as I have all our maternity dates (baby scans, midwife appointments etc) in my K850's calender.

SEUS usually doesn't overwrite any organiser or messaging entries but the problem with this latest firmware is that it seems the phone needs a master reset anyway before it really starts working.

Darrengf had issues with his and I had a display issue with mine. I would suggest if you really want to update, back up the calendar somewhere and do a master reset when you have updated it. Without the master reset, you will more than likely experience problems!

Haha, it's GREAT news for me. As long as they don't screw up the revised design. Waiting for my N95 8GB to arrive next week... can't wait! It's gonna be a blast.

I like how SonyEricsson is making the unbranded k850 owners wait for no reason. after all we've been through, its a real kick in the balls

Mucho thanks, Darrengf for your details about your 038 experience. One thing I'm dying to know while I wait indefinitely for it...

With my phone, in Media Player, I can browse my 1600 Tracks very quickly by letter. But, searching in Album or Artist (447, 383 respectively), takes 1 1/2 to 2 minutes to pull up by name. Even when I had about half of that amount, it took over a minute to pull up, say "Rush" after typing RU.

Please tell me it is better with 038!

Thanks!

sorry, but no

(although I haven't done a master reset as it takes an evening to reset all the setup & connections once this done)

Seems I'll have to do a master reset later.

If I put an old sim card in (so I don't have to mess about copying names/numbers) will it still work?

Good morning to you all.

I dont have as many songs on as you do, but i can say that its still slow with 60 songs on, however slow compaired to the last firmware its not as slow. So instead of it taking 2 mins, you may get away with 45 seconds now.

But its a start.

I know i have mentioned before, but a master reset is the best thing to do when you have installed this new firmware, why im not sure, but it really does improve the phone.

This also might be the case in all future firmwares, although im hoping not.
Regarding the K850i slight replacement, Im still trying to obtain info for my sources, althou at present they are a bit vague were saying that its sooner rather than later. I will keep you all upto date when i get to know.
