Did you watch the video with audio on?

The guy says Galaxy S5 screen is better calibrated, brighter and has better viewing angles than Xperia Z2 and M8.

For viewing angles he says S5 > M8 > Z2

For color accuracy S5 > Z2 > M8

I consider more punchy colors
So for me Z2 is better
The reds and greens are so vibrant

well he chose the cinema mode for the s5.
the xperia z2 does not have that mode but it has those sliders to change your colors the way you want them.

but weren't the brightness levels different when he compared those photos? the z2 and m7 look noticeably brighter.

i prefer the amoled display because of the power efficiency. s5 wins in the display department for me but certainly not in the camera.

however, if those displays are put side by side and presented in a blind comparison, i'm sure samsung will show the standard oversaturated version of the display because it looks more attractive to most people's eyes.

just look at the last part. all of a sudden the z2 became darker and the s5 brighter. when he did the comparisons with the iphone 5s, the z2 display was obviously brighter and the s5 was just around as bright as the iphone. hmmm.... changes to make a certain device look superior?

More vibrant is not a good thing. SuperAmoled screens have always been bashed for fake oversaturated colors and if Sony has come out with a screen even more saturated than SAMOLED then it's really sad for a company that used to make the best calibrated laptop displays and the best TVs in the past

So personally for me and also technically it's sad to see Sony go the Samsung route with their displays

Who said it was more saturated than amoled? Have you seen the screen?

It is almost as over saturated as the S5's Cinema mode. But my post was not about comparison with S5 but a general statement on Sony shying away from color accuracy in their smartphones. I expect Sony to be at the forefront not join Samsung in making over saturated screens.

DeltaE on Xperia Z2 is 6.9 which is way off the mark, whereas Nexus 5 screen hits DeltaE value 2 and Iphone 5S 1.7. So Sony is closer to Samsung S5 (7.1 DeltaE) than Nexus 5 even among android devices.

Then what really happened here?

Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z2 and LG G Pro 2

then comes this

look how washed out S5's display gets
