Nokia is telling something odd or not revealing something...
The sales man at the shop also told me that it could b used as modem...
Can anyone suggest a non camera phone having modem capability and edge...If possible bluetooth..

There is no listed driver for 6030 in PC Suite. So it tells me about 70% that 6030 may not has GPRS modem. You can confirm it by serching in Menu for GPRS option & Access Point.
Or
Directly ask by going to this link
http://nokia.co.in/nokia/0,,28161,00.html . If you get answer as "Yes" then it will surely have GPRS modem.
By the way, if you want non-camera phone, then go for Nokia 6100(Bluetooth is not there). I don't know about SE.

Check you settings.. And hey if you are using a series 40 phone .. Then let me tell you that the opera browser connects itself to the opera server and then downloads all sites.. So in order to surf.. You need to have the full Gprs working..
