You're not alone with your problem - my K800i does it too! Mine does it when viewing photos in camera pictures, and I select the context menu. I get funny code instead of 'view mode'.
Like yours, mine is random, not every time. Didn't do it before flashing to R1ED001.

So no improvements in mp3 quality.. this phone sucks as a music player compared to the k750, which I thought was an excellent player... how can they make things worse than its predecessor

I breifly used a K750i and find the K800i music player is better. What dont you like about it?

Here's a question i haven't seen answered here (i don't think....):
Can a SE firmware update enable flash-enabled icons (or whatever) or is a separate program needed for that, and if so, is the K800 likely to ever get one of the best bits of the w810i? Lot's of people say they want it, but i haven't heard anything definitive as of yet....
I'd love to see themes become a bit more varied on the menu screen - customisation is a BIG hobby of mine and loads of other people!

what's your basis in saying that its phone music player sucks? are you playing it attached to a component and listening to it in the entire house?

The only place you can download is at Wotan Server (there are others however this is the easiest to use), taking the phone to a SE service center or sending of to a service center.
SEUS is currenlty not able to update the phone and erom and SE are working on a fix.
** However, If you dont have a fault with the phone and dont feel confident in using Wotan server then leave the phone as it is for the time being. **

select application and set it as wallpaper..very coool

Sorry to say in last couple of days I have also lost my applications and games original and added ones!
hadn't done anything different with the phone plus any usb use was made whilst pc was running fine without any crashes (clean install of OS 10 days ago (I do this about every six months or so) and fully virus scanned)
tried ideas mentioned in this and other threads to get original items back but no go!
only thing been able to do after a fight is re-install some other apps,
at first every Jar kept saying not enough memory to run even though they installed
two of the Jar items ask in an option screen if I want to run one of the original items (which are now supposedly now missing) or the Jar I'm trying to start! Trying to run a named missing item fails
Sounds almost like a software memory buffer overflow problem with the phone, by the way only had about five apps installed so there is still plenty of space on the phone also memory card.
PS: still on original firmware and EROM.
(I guess all original Jar items will be replaced durin the flash process)
