As long as

can deliver what a 1Ghz Snapdragon can do without glitch or hiccups then i guess everyone will be happy getting the X10 even if it only runs on Donut. (Gee, i hope they can deliver)
But you know..what I'm really excited about is how

would use this UI on their upcoming devices. Like on a Walkman phone perhaps.

Dangerous game;the Storm bombed, the N97 bombed, no idea about the Omnia (relative figs) Pre sales were so so but the media loved the Palm comeback story and the candy on the OS and Boinng's right arm has had a couple of problems, I think there was a hiccup with the new Firmware at the 3G launch but, and I'm sure Masseur or any of the guys in the iPhone Thread can correct me here, I think it was fixed in about a week or so from launch. A couple of other firmwares have had reported problems but again I think fixed in about a week or two. If there had been problems on say the scale and duration (4months) of the N97 it'd be plastered all over the media.
+1, exactly. As someone else reminded me recently, probably the worst bug introduced into my "right arm" (aka the iphone) was with the recent 3.1 firmware which caused some phones to go into a deep sleep in standby and not wake up for calls etc. Only a minority were affected, but as you'd expect with anything iphone it was in fact heavily covered by the media at the time - in fact here in the UK it even appeared on
Watchdog, a BBC consumer affairs show on primetime TV. The irony was that by the time that report went out, Apple had already fixed it by releasing 3.1.2.
SE are far from the only phone manufacturer to have the spotlight thrown on them over faulty software - both the iPhone and any and every competitor to the iPhone have been under intense scrutiny in the media for the last few years - but if SE are getting a particularly bad press at the moment it's thoroughly deserved. This is a company that's been failing for some time so naturally people look for reasons for that, and one of them is quality control, there's no mistaking that. It didn't start with the Satio or the Aino, but also the C905, K850 (and the rest of the A200 range at the time), P990 (and other UIQ3 phones), all with significant hardware and/or software faults, all causing lots of problems for the likes of CPW and Phones4U, all building up to a point now where retailers are obviously happy to publicly shame SE over continuing problems presumably in the hope that SE may actually take a little more care. This isn't a conspiracy, just some chickens coming home to roost.
Also, not to put too fine a point on it, SE are lying about the Aino. They're playing down all the reports of bugs now and implying that the Aino stories were made up, but at the same time, there are numerous official, attributable comments from SE in the original articles confirming that there were problems with the Aino. Either SE got it wrong originally (not the media's fault) or SE are fibbing about it now - either way, it's all a little pathetic.

ok, we've had a little rest for this topic, but I'm getting fed up keeping this topic clean from personal remarks.
you are welcome to respond to posts with contrary opinion/facts etc.
you are also welcome to ignore posts you feel are of no value or interest to you.
You don't have to feel that you MUST reply to a post that you don't like or agree with.
At this stage, for this phone, alot of what anyone says is conjecture, opinion, etc as well as

stated facts and personal bias, and so there will be (is already!) much to discuss and disagree on, but lets keep it clean please.
any further direct personal remarks will result in that member receiving an immediate 1 day ban without warning, so consider the content of your post carefully before clicking submit!

The last hands on was pretty slick. Dont you think the homescreen looks a bit meh? A proper theme, a few widgets should add to the beauty. I like the idea of 3 homescreens with widgets.

I don't mind paying for "Beautiful widgets". But what I really want in the theme is an option to change the blue to something else. I really, REALLY want a black/ grayscale based look to the existing UI design.
