I guess we have to wait till cebit to see any more mid-high end cybershots? Would it have been so hard to put wifi in the c901?

not a sound processor but digital signal processor, sound processing may be one of many purposes. in mobile phones mostly used for sound and video decoding. DSP is often better solution than CPU + software because of many reasons

Recently I read in M-R that a DSP is benefitial for the sound quality only when the main processor is not strong enough.
They also mentioned that sound quality of Sony Ericsson phones is considered average not due to the missing DSP but due to high levels of processing of the sound, which enhances certain frequencies but also produces unwanted noise (like the high-pitch noise).

sadly, I'm all for nokia this show

even with what they have under their sleeves... for both companies
I really doubt if what SE has to announce can really sell... let alone bring in substantial profit to shut ericsson up

see if you'd agree a week later.
