today ,after coll hrs,i met some bsnl guys(an engineer among them was carring a military kind of expensive looking binoculars
) in my coll buildng..they were there to see the terrace to set up a tower above our building.they asked me for directions to go to the terrace.i had a chat with the engineer.on my enquiry,he said that the new transmitors(watever its called) going to be installed will be nokia make as they got the tender..which was held by ericsson till now.asked if it will help nokia fones,he said ofcourse,...they tune it a bit such that nokia fones get good reception qualiy than any other make..its a way to capture more mobile fone market.all companies do it.
how does it work??i mean,how does a transmitter on top of the tower know that the signal is coming from such a make fone etc??
