So no more rumors? I think Sony should bypass Z4 and go for Z5 at IFA. I believe no Z Ultra successor is under developement. I am mad at Sony for pushing me to Samsung this year.

who knows, they could cancel the mid year flag update after all like hdblog source claim... but what we know for sure is that the more interesting rumors should arrive closer to september ifa...
note 5 is the most interesting next phablet for me too IF there is no new ultra but don't forget the next lg phablet that is seriously going to target note. you may disagree with this one but i also hope the next ultra if in the works have smaller dimensions similar to t2 ultra dimensions - not exceeding 165 mm length. they could easily accomplish that by reducing the display size to 6" and such design will stay true to their design language - preference for thin design with larger top and bottom bezel. second, it will be less intimidating to potential buyers.
z ultra is just scary. third, they should also try to somehow make the front and back glass more resistant to bending and cracking due to pressure like pocket pressure - this last one should be really high in their improvement imo. "ultra resistant glass/chassis" would be good as a selling feature similar to the ip certification, maybe the latest dragontrail glass is an answer? some special coating? sapphire is still far fetched option and its benefits are questionable, some chassis construction patent? anyway, the shatter film was a terrible idea so they can only go up from there.

I hate the position of the buttons on LG phones. I hate the system font and the icon pack on samsungs. It's like a toy. Sony doesn't make phablets. Simply great

we know why we like sony more then other companies, for different reasons. yeah, if lg keep the back volume buttons then no, it is just annoying. htc is also disappointing - like sony and the rest they don't try to bring a true flag in the 6" display size and their cameras are the worst in the world so they're not an option. huawei next phablet is actually interesting after the impressive mate 7, i put it as second option but i doubt it will be as good as note. note 5 is the only phablet that you know is going to be a beast with the least drawbacks especially after samsung is stepping up in premium design and making the software more fluid with s6. i wish they ditch the s pen and its software, i don't find a pen useful.

If you need a new phone now then i say don't wait. it is actually a very good time to buy z3 because it is cheaper. if you wait for z4 you may wait a few months until it actually reaches your country, it is not 100% sure it is coming mid year, and you will need to ask yourself if you want to pay a premium price for x new features.
