AllWinner A31 Specifications - quad core

This new processor is supposed to outperform the iPad 2 and has about 90% of iPad 3 performance while using the ARM Cortex-A7 low power architecture.

Could Sony end up using something like this?

Hi Everyone! I am new here and i love hearing about rumours from Sony so i joined because i know this forum is where it all happens! Hi to Randomuser!! i understand it´s you who give us all the new info about the phones! so i have an Question, you can just answer yes or no there is no need for more , will Sony give us a successor to the Xperia Go this year? a phone who isn´t bigger than 3,5"-4", is waterproof and have better hardware? i don´t like these new 5"+
big phones everyone is doing at the moment

Faster than S4

"It looks like Tegra 3 won’t be getting a replacement this year. Despite the fact that multiple sources close to the matter report that the chip is getting close to production, it won’t be launched this year.
Nvidia will unveil Tegra 4 at CES 2013 followed by more design win unveilings at the Mobile World Congress in February 2013. Tegra 4 is the likely name of Wayne chip that according to Nvidia’s Tegra roadmap is supposed to have ten times the performance of Tegra 2 dual-core and twice the performance of Tegra 3.

Both the graphics core and CPU will be significantly faster than Tegra 3 and the next Tegra in line should get a lot of design wins in 2013. Wayne will be compatible with LTE modems making it easier for US telecoms to launch phones based on next generation Tegra.

Tegra 3 got at least three significant design wins this year, including the Nexus 7, the most important of them all, Surface RT and HTC0s One X and X+. Samsung appears to be the biggest competitor for Nvidia quad-cores and beyond, while Qualcomm can also put a lot of pressure on Nvidia with its S4 line.

We are hearing that Tegra 4 ends up significantly faster than S4 in most areas and benchmarks. We don’t know if Wayne is fast enough to take on the iPhone 5’s A6 processor, the one that dominates the benchmarks across the globe."

Anything Tegra is also ridiculously painful for developers though, because Nvidia don't like releasing drivers.

According to posts on a Chines forum Yuga and Odin will be available around valentines day in Europe/Hong Kong. The expected global release date is in March. Some markets might get it sooner some a little later.

According to a source in China, Yuga will be released firstly in Japan around Valentine's day. The international version will be available in mid. March. The realese pnan applys to Odin as well.

The new tablet will have the similar release date to Yuga in Japan too.

The device using 8974 will be launched in the middle of next year, firstly in China.

The phablet will use 6.44 inch display.

The source who leaked the info. works for SM China (SE before) and enjoys high credibility in local BBS.

If the rumors are true it will take about a month to be released.
That is still a lot better than what it used to be.
Originally the international release was planned for May and has been pulled up to March.

So Sony is fast-tracking Yuga/Odin's release. It shows they do not want competitors to arrive before them. I'm really liking the new Sony Mobile, they are serious about competing now.

While that's all good, there is something else that is worrying me. These new SONYs will be priced VERY high

Anyway, I have a HUGE rumor to share but I am not sure if I should share after whatever happened.
