I have a /6 and a Hong Kong handset. SE Hong Kong has finally release p990i through the carriers last week such as PCCW, Smartone Vodafone, and Three with the traditional chinese character set. I have yet to check which version of firmware they have. If it is a R9 firmware, the update should arrive soon through seus. If R7, then it's bad news for us. ANyone can confirm? Otherwise i will check this week.

Hi all!
So what's the conclusion? Anyone noticed any changes after the latest upgrade? I'm away for the weekend so I will upgrade tomorrow.
From this discussion i seems there has been small changes if any at all.

Os.

I got few rmv and mp4 video file. Previous firmware able to play video files without any problem.
After upgarding to latest firmware, not able to play those video files.
Prompt:
Error: There have been problems trying to open the file. Do you want to try again?
If you press "Yes", screen just blank, no sound.
thought video files corrupted. Beam it to another P990 with previous version of firmware, able to play those video without any problem.
Anyone here having this problem?? Or it just my P990??
Wanna confirm this before I reflash my P990...

I have upgraded to R4B03 and now the camera does not work. At the beginning it would tell me that "There is a problem with this capture" and now when I try to take a picture it reboots. Did it happen to anyone else?
One thing is for sure SE never lets you get bored with P990; a new problem every day. It is getting really ridiculous.
No, actually the pictures are marginally bigger in size, about 495 KB, and the camera "feels" faster. Maybe you should just do an internal format and reflash.
I totally agree with you on the second paragraph. If they would only read the feedback... A communication company that does not know how to communicate !!!

My recommendation would be, if you don't have any major problems you could wait for the next update. Unless you don't mind spending a day or so to reinstall all applications etc.
For me, this update (or the master reset?) has made the menus slightly faster and seems to have fixed a WiFi problem I had once in a while and slightly more RAM available. Other than that, no major changes.

With due respect to the CellPhoneSoft team for their fabulous apps, I have not used Swiss Manager since the firmware upgrade in January and have had no problems, RAM management or otherwise, even without restarting my device for well over a week.

yup i got that message as well, and i thought one thing, that Windows Vista simply do not allow SEUS to access the Java VM, so you need to give SEUS Admin rights as a program when you run it...
go to C:Program FilesSony EricssonUpdate Service or wherever you installed it and right click on Update Service.exe, select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab and tick the "Run in a compatibility mode: For Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". Then further down, you also need to tick the "Run this program as an administrator" from the Priviledge Level section. Finally, to run SEUS, do a right click on the program and select "Run as admin".
It should work fine now. However, i had to unistall my flash player and install it again as it wouldnt recognise it. Everything worked well afterwards. You will notice that Vista will disable Aero for as long as you run SEUS.

Thanks for the info by the way, however i still can't get seus to work properly. i get to the seus screen where the

logo animates then after a few seconds a note saying "Failed checking application versions, please reinstall the application and make sure you have the latest version" appears. i have uninstalled and reinstalled seus several times but still get the same message. what version of seus are you using for vista? more help needed, thanks again
