Hi Boba,

No i don't have i have information but the E61i was just a minor upgrade IMO and the E61 form factor is superb and i can't imagine Nokia dropping it. I am hoping for the same design with maybe minor changes and the OAMP3 series chip and hopefully128mb Ram and of course HSDPA and that would then be my ultimate device.

Marc

I know a secret. I know about the new Communicator. Forget the E61i successor Marc. The new Communicator will be better and look better for sure.

@sapporobaby

Well as long as it doesn't come out till next Year that will be fine as i have promised myself no more devices till 2008 and i do intend sticking to it as have upgrades due December and February. I appreciate you can't say much but is this the rumoured E80 baby communicator?

Great (insert RollyEyes here)! If THIS is what we've waited 2yrs for (since S90 died on 7700/7710) then Nokia you can KEEP IT!

I don't want another iteration of the iPhone GUI
I don't want another iteration of the HTC Touch GUI.

I WANT .... INNOVATION .... FORWARD THINKING.

Just remember, that while everyone seems to be copying Apple's GUI innovation (and its an innovation make no mistake about it) - Apple is hard at work coming up with something more something new. Don't get me wrong I cannot STAND the iPhone > but its innovation non-the-less, and I don't like seeing Nokia imitate.

@Prom1 and all

I very much doubt it will be a cheap copy of already realeased devices it will IMO offer full S60 abilities with all that brings the only difference will be that it it will utilise a touchscreen interface. It will of course have 3G and HSDPA and i wouldn't be surprised if it supports 7.2mbps as is not due till next year. It may also be one of the first devices to come with a OMAP series 3 chip it won't be a cheap copy of anything it will be a class leading device for sure.

I am also sure it will fit in with the newly announced OVI services that will be available for all N series devices initially and others possibly later on. OVI is possibly the most exciting part of today's announcements as is all about delivering true value added services to our devices and this is where Nokia really are different from all the other manufacturers they are not just going to deliver devices but make it easier for us to integrate all we wish to do and this really is new and different.

As is far more than just buying Music through our devices or using something like Track ID. Interesting times ahead and personally i can't wait to see these services start to roll out. Especially as they are going to launch this year not in the distant future the partners Nokia have involved in this are all major players in their own right so this collaboration is going to be mainstream not just some unheard of alliances. IMO Nokia really have launched a major surprise and i really don't know what any of the other manufacturers are going t be able to do to counter the advances they are making. This must of been in the making for some time now and obviously why Nokia didn't see the iPhone as being a threat to their strategy. Nokia aren't the market leaders for no reason and this new strategy and divergence really was quite unexpected no leaks or hints of this coming anywhere and i don't think anyone expected what we saw announced today besides the new N81 and the Music store everything else was certainly unexpected.

Marc
