The numeric keys are made of a thin slab, and provide a very modest travel. Basically, you need to press them with your entire finger pads; this sets it apart from most other keypads. The ergonomics of this solution are not really decent, and you will need some time to get used to it. Those into texting might even find the W910i completely unsuitable.
What a load of tosh, I have large hands and fingers and text a lot....
They keyboard is fine, and makes a nice click as I press the numeric buttons.

you don't have to shake, you can long hold the volume buttons to change tracks. I prefer that over shaking but to each their own.
I can't believe the complaints at the start of this thread about audio quality. Yes the speaker is crap. But the sound quality through headsets (even the supplied hpm70) is excellent.
Their testing is flawed imho.

If this is a very bad phone...GSM association won't vote it as the best GSM phone for 2007.
i am not complaining about the audio but one remark about the antenna performance? this is one criteria to be the BEST GSM phone right? so if it is tht bad....it mean gSM association is either
1. run by a group of idiots.
2. people can bribe or get very bias when the vote for the best phone.
3. eldar not in the commitee
whatever it is...review is a review....review using prototype is no longer giving a justified thing.
Remember mobile-review get into big attention because it is a site where it manage to get phone way before others can get em for review. but most of the time it seem like they are reviewing prototypes.....
it used to be good because people love to look at rumour or leaks but as esato now having their own rumour thread plus i notice the translation of russian review into english is so slow....i believe it just don't serve the purpose......w980 review was out in mobile-review.com russian site for a long time but i am yet to see the english version. This could be a reason why we cannot get an up to date review in english

No it's not.
I suggest you try a SAMSUNG i450, Serenta, NOKIA 5310, N81 and Moto Z8 and compare their sound to the W910. Ive compared it to my N81, a friends i450 and Z8. The W910 doesn't give a great sonic experience like the others via HPM-70 HEADPHONES.

Let's wait and see what modders will do with w910...
Cause as far as I remember my old k750 it sucks with its music player even after flashing it with w800 FW!! but with the help of acoustic modders I got real music player phone(walkman) with great quality!
The same situation happened with my k810 ... and now w910 I see that day when I'll put flash menus in phone use modded camera driver and acoustic driver and I will forget about the problems that now i have with my phone
Finally I haven't any experience with other phones(music playing) like nokia or samsung or ... but personally I expected more sound quality(for w910)

I don't have a N81 to test with, but the W910 is better than my W800, K800 and my bro-in-law's N95. Substantially better actually. Though I've only compared using 256-320Kbps encoded tracks.
Maybe the N81 is an exceptional case, but this hardly means the W910 is a crap music phone. I never said nothing is better than the W910, only that it's quite good quality in it's own right.

Then your ears are either biased

or you used the original N95 headsets. I bought W910 for my Dad recently. I used a Sony headset (dont remember the model but it cost around $80) to compare and the N95/82 is just much better. W910 sound is flat and muffled whereas the N95/82 sound is so much clearer. N82/95 bass is also more solid compared to the mushy W910 megabass.
On the whole W910 is a good phone except for speaker phone which is total crap. Music quality is OK if you are not an audiophile. Camera is also OK for a non AF. It is a bit laggy (esp media menu) compared to my N95/82 but nothing too irritating.
Major downside is that W910 is more unstable compared to my N82/n95. It was already updated to latest firmware but still have its regular self-rebooting. Since my father is not using the phone for critical stuff, I can overlook that. Not complaining tho as I got it for free on a $10 per month contract.

my w910 is on the latest firmware and it hasn't restarted once.
You are right I only listened through N95 headset, but then I only listened through the standard hpm-70 that came with the W910 as well.
Forget megabase, this is a function only for people who don't care about quality and only care about blowing their ears out. I always leave megabase (or any kind of equaliser settings) out of any testing I do.
As a poster said early in this thread, the SE is more balanced than Nokia handsets. The N95 seems to be short on base (not megabase, just the normal base tones that round out the sound of most instruments). The W910 is well balanced as long as you don't use megabase.
I'm no expert, but I know what I like. And imho there is nothing wrong with the audio production of the W910. Perhaps dedicated audiophiles are better equiped than I to judge, but I can tell you this: in most back to back testing on any kind of device I've ever seen, even audio experts argue endlessly about the various merits of this device or that. So the conclusion I come to is that every one is different and there is no absolute benchmark that everyone can agree on.
You like N95, I like W910. Who's right? Neither of us, we just have different tastes. Sure if sometning is really bad it's obvious to all (except the megabase advocates) but neither the W910 nor the N95 are "poor" media players
