no probs brother

truly is peaceful if one looks into it deeply

In the rememberance of Allah Almighty will one find true peace and tranquility.

This world is a short journey, lookin back it seems a few seconds have passed by, the eternal life is to come.

Once we die, we will leave behind everything we pocess in this world. All that will come with you is your good and bad deeds which you have done in this short life.

It would be a shame if the human lived his life without knowing who his creator is, many signs are visible to the human eye and many prophets (peace be upon them all) came to guide is on the matter, the devil wishes for us to go astray and many do.

I pray that we all walk on the straight path and i pray we all know who our Creator/Sustainer really is. Amen.

Sura Fatiha

1. In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
2. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
3. The Beneficent, the Merciful.
4. Master of the Day of Judgment.
5. Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help.
6. Keep us on the right path.
7. The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray.

We recite this Sura atleast 17 times in one day. It is therefore of the upmost importance that we just not recite it, but we also understand the meaning of this sura. In the first part of this sura, Allah describes himself as the Lord of everyone, (includes Jins, Humans, Animals, Angels and countless other entities) of all the worlds. We have no idea how vast our world is. This solar system including all the 8 planets and the sun are just a minute part of the HUGE world of Allah. that, Allah mentions that despite Him being powerful He is all merciful and forgiving. SubhanAllah. Why is this important? Because power is one thing that casts greed in one's heart. If any one of us get some kind of power of any kind, we start looking down on people. This is the exact same thing that Iblees (Shaitan , devil) did. When Allah told everyone to portray infront of Adam (AS), shaitan said that I am more powerful than Adam, I am made of fire while he is made out of clay and sand. This lust of power destroyed iblees and now mankind is following in his footsteps. Therefore, Allah mentioned that He is all merciful and forgiving. Next two aya's are a reminder for us. Allah is master of the day of judgement. On that day, no one, not even the Prophets will dare to say anything without the will of Allah. No one will be able to look up to Allah without His permission. Indeed Allah is the master of the day of judgment. Allah then describes our purpose in this world, to worship Allah. Allah has mentioned in several places of the Quran that mankind has been created for the purpose to worship Him. And in return, Allah is being merciful to us to allow us to ask to Him for our needs and desires. We ask for money, for wife, house, to have our sins forgiven and if Allah wills, He grants us. Imagine a ruler so powerful, that controls all the universe and tells His creations not to ask for anything. But since Allah has mentioned that He is merciful therefore He gave us a chance to ask Him for anything. This is also a reminder that we should ask only and only Allah for help. No one else is worthy to help us without the will of Allah. and then we make a dua. We ask Allah to keep us on the right path. The of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and other Prophets, the path of sahabah (RA). These are the peoples on whom Allah showered His mercy and favors the most. And we then we ask refuge from those people on whom Allah has sent His anger.

Ameen

May Allah help us all in not just reading the Quran but also to understand it. Of course reading the Quran by itself has rewards, but those rewards are multiplied if we also understand what we are reading. That is when we can truly understand the message of Allah and act upon that message.

I'm reading the Quran at the moment, an English interpretation but would love to read it in its true form one day. Decided to read it after reading "The Sealed Nectar" as when I tried before I didn't have enough knowledge so always had to revert to the footnotes for reference. Flying through it now and finding it a much easier read, fantastic!!!

I'm also trying to perfect my Salat l have a DVD that I watch, but l would really like a pure audio version that l can put on my phone to listen to where in travelling to work.

any recommendations brothers?

Asalam o alaikum warah matullah wabarakatuhu

Brother Caspa,

If I understand you correctly, you need an audio version of "How to do Proper Salat" right?

Also "The Sealed Nectar"? What is that?

I also want to learn arabic so that I can read the Quran and understand it without having to read the translation. But alhamdolillah, by reading the translation, I am beginning to understand the Quran little by little.

Yes akhi, I have a DVD called 'Pray as you have seen me praying' which teaches you everything (its supposed to be in the manner of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)) so my knowledge of position and posture etc etc is great but my recitation still needs alot of work. I would like some sort of audio of just the surah's and recitation of salat. I'll then be able to listen all the time, inshallah, whereas I am limited in how often I can watch the DVD...

'The Sealed Nectar' is the biography of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), its an absolutely fantastic read! I was going to read the biography of Abu Bakr (PBUH) next but decided to give the Qu'ran a try again as the first time round it was to 'full on' in the sense of understanding some of the terminology and terms used, also the context in which it was revealed (i.e. the time and events) - i kept on having to refer to the annotations and references which can be very long winded - this meant that by the time I read that, I had lost the flow of the verse so it lost its true power and meaning...

I dont have the problem now, alhumduliah, its just the small term or word that I need a quick reminder on...

Hadith Qudsi #7
On the authority of Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:

"Your Lord delights at a shepherd who, on the peak of a mountain crag, gives the call to prayer and prays. Then Allah (glorified and exalted be He) will say: 'Look at this servant of Mine, he gives the call to prayer and performs the prayers; he is in awe of Me. I have forgiven My servant [his sins] and have admitted him to Paradise.'"

[An-Nasa'i with a good chain of authorities]
