Sunrise (a mobile operator in Switzerland) is selling it with a contract.
Today I had the chance to play with a real device and indeed it looks and feels great. Much better than in the pictures.
There aren't many built in games, however. Just two. The W series has a better offering here.

The gps is standalone and assisted gps can be turned off. However, being in rather tall building I wasn't able to get a valid signal. The sim was disabled and it couldn't fall back on assisted mode.
Forgot to test wifi...

I'm getting confident this is going to be an excellent K610 replacement. For me at least

@SIGHUP

I share your sentiment on LED torch. I still remember our discussion when we just gotten our N95

X1 and C905 can be used as torch but need to set into video mode, whereas G705 you can set a shortcut to torch. Two very short clicks bhaam you get light. G705 or W705 or W902 should be able to do it too. As a photolight it is pretty limited though unlike Xenon on C905

@se love
Do remember that the W705 does not have GPS while the G705 does. I preferred the look of the W705, but want GPS.

Once again thanks Island!

Good to know about the X1 and C905 models. That's a minus having to go through the video mode just for torch. This is one of the main reasons why I kept my W850i for so long, the torch.

Do you still own your N95? I may need a replacement, since the -4 can't charge anymore. Some of the circuits must have gotten fried some how. I use a desktop charger to charge my batteries (3 of them heh). I may go back to the N95-3. But we'll see how it goes.

The thing of it is, going to the G705 will mean downgrading video, screen size and mega pixels. Screen size, lus great sound and other "nifties." Its probably not worth it. I think I just answered my potential question of buying the G705 heh heh.

Circuit fried? Thats bad. I still have my N95-2 and will keep it. I has become a benchmark for its time just like k750.

You are right that going bigger screen is the way to go. I think most us will be reluctant to downsize the screen after having a larger one. However the QVGA 2.4' on G705 isnt bad at all. It is good proportion to the size (smaller than N95) and lighter yet with key features of a larger phone like wifi and gps. 2.4' on C905 is smallish and not proportional.

Regular phone applications I use in S60 are also available in java version for A200. The A200 messaging/texting and UI are so much easier and fun to use. For its size and price it is a good balance phone.

That's what I thought until I got my 8GB iPhone. Truth is that even with a 3.5" screen, one still has to zoom in on webpages. The large screen is overkill for (iPod) music use but great for watching video. As I use the browser more than I watch video, I'll not mind a 2.4" screen. The problem is deciding whether to get the G or the W version.
