ah, well, bad news about that. I tried it on 2.21 before updating and mine no longer works. I was ure I had used it with 2.21 but I guess not, though I know definitly I used it with 2.2

also, it doesn't work with 3.0 so unless there's another one out there thats been updated I guess we're stuck for a while

edit: it was totally reliable when I was able to use it. Lets hope they come up with a new version as its a simple risk free way to use other sims

Agreed, put the lock issue to bed now, it can be bypassed by a flimsy piece of plastic and a few bits of copper and glass anyway, so who cares!

I am just wondering, would it not be cheaper for us to buy a Iphone 3GS in France, as I believe they do it unlocked and it can be bought in that country. Plus Apple will have its worldwide warranty on it too?

... and wouldn't you HAVE to pay a further/compulsory £10 per month to O2 for 12 months?

Or, once you've paid the price of the PAYG phone can you then just stick your middle finger up at O2 and not bother with the minimum payments p/m?

No mate there is no compulsory monthly topup payment when you get it on PAYG. You get 12 months free and then after that it's £10 a month to keep getting it. I called upO2 and confirmed this earlier.

"When you buy a new iPhone from us, we'll give you 12 months of unlimited web and Wi-Fi. It's called the O2 Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On, and you'll be able to keep it at the end of the 12 months for £10 a month if you like."

Best thing to do with that sim is to stick it in a dongle and enjoy 12 months free browsing from you lappy!

Good idea! Might just have to do that with my laptop on the way home from work every day! Genius! lol

I noticed some people have 3.0 installed now and have mentioned increased speeds in browsing as well some other little things eg auto fill in of passwords ect...
