@Davidsic - In most instances SGS2 came out second or better and with the HD/Full HD it came out on top.

Sometimes it's the person behind the camera too. No offence to masseur though

As for the photos the Samsung seem to be much better in contrast especially in the first shot. I am not sure why they did not include the Arc camera though & why the iphone was in there?? I know it's not all about mega pixels but the iphone is 5 meg & the rest are 8 to 12. The iphone does have very OTT colours though especially the beach shot. The Galaxy S II has slightly pale colours imo

@Caspa, What is Recovery?
Thanks
Firstly, its a custom recovery that someone will sort... Such as ClockWorkMod or AmronRA... Main function we'll be using it for will be performing Nandroid backups so if anything goes wrong, we just boot into recovery and restore our backup...
Little low down below...
"All Android devices ship with a recovery console that is basically a partition on the device’s internal memory and can be booted into. The stock recovery of almost all Android devices provides a few basic yet handy options that allow you to factory reset your device and also to recover its operating system using an official ROM in zip format, but that’s all you can do with it. That’s where a custom recovery comes handy.
A custom Android recovery basically replaces the stock recovery with one that lets you do all you can do with the stock recovery, plus a plethora of more options to give you a lot more control on your device. With a custom recovery, you can install official and unofficial ROMs as well as other updates including apps, themes, kernels etc. using zip files, wipe not just user data but pretty much every partition on your device, mount the storage card for USB mass storage access without leaving recovery, partition your SD card, wipe Dalvik cache and battery stats, fix permissions, perform, manage and restore backups and so on."
My Android background has been HTC based... A Hero and a Desire, so I'm used to doing everything via ClockWorkMod recovery, not used to using ODIN as you do with the SGII...
AND...

played with the SGS II this morning and all I can say is "wow"....
Totally agree with you on this post... Definate wow factor...Really smooth and quick, and yeah... Touchwiz didnt put me off itself straight away either, I think I'll just get rid of the Samsung hubs and give it a try... Slim and light plastic will do me fine thanks!

@Caspa, thanks. This will be my first Android (will get it when the price comes down some) so I am not experienced with that. Where can I read more? I will do a Google search as well but maybe you can recommend a site for me.
Thanks

I've never been particularly good at getting the most out of cameras but it does say something about camera phones when my Sony Cybershot DSC-T700 gives me great results with simple point and shoot, but the iPhone 4 and the SGS II etc do not...

Point taken. Actually I have a Sony HX7 Cyber-shot camera & it does show that with a REAL camera it's much better & easier!! Camera phones I guess are still rather limited
