I never thought this would actualy happen so its official over now, wow! I hope SONY have so great devices for us next year, 1st thing i would do if i was them is cut the ties with Qualcomm, get on the Texas Instruments wagon, also wonder if we will see Cyber-shot make a comeback, maybe into Smartphones this time?
Im excited and sad at the same time.

I don't care if it's a good move or bad but I'm extremely sad about this news. I have had a perfect relationship with Sony Ericsson with buying their first mobile phone T200 and using Sony Ericsson mobile phones for a decade. When the company was launched in 2001, I knew it had great potentials. It's very sad that it could not deliver to it's best. There has been great times for Sony Ericsson but I still think it had a long way to go to be at it's best.

Well, whatever happens, it's all for good.

It was great and exceptionally amazing experience using Sony Ericsson phones. Will surely miss it!

sooooo sad

after long time with Ericsson , then Sony Ericsson, after about 15 years i will not see
the name of Ericsson on a mobile device

i always blamed Sony for the problem SE was facing
all the mistakes Sony was doing, specially in the marking was there in the SE

i like Sony but i don't trust them

Who says they will be ditching the Ericsson brand? All it means is they have one owner not two, and so they will be able to move quicker in the market.

This is BRILLIANT!

That's a wonderful news. No more mediocre cameras and screens, like those in whole 2011 xperia line.

one would assume quicker releases of products... Well, I say this only because I figure Sony's R&D would be a lot better (ie, more money, etc etc) than that of
