My boss just got an Xperia U for her upgrade (she seems to be stuck with Ericsson,Sony Ericsson's and now SONY).
She had an Ericsson but ask me what it was I wouldn't be able to tell you.
She's had a SE T650i (blue).
A SE Xperia X10 Mini.
And now the SONY Xperia U which she absolutely loves. It's a beauty if I say so myself.
Why aren't SONY selling million apon miillions of phones? With what I've seen of the Xperia U (haven't played on the other variants) I dont see why people aren't going crazy for them like they are for iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy range.

They have not been advertised as iPhone has.

The Xperia U is simply a great phone for its price. If memory is not an issue, you can go ahead and buy it blindly. Extremely happy with it.

Thanks guys for the opinions. Next month I'll be planning the buying. Although I've considered other phones as well. The price/features relation is something I have in mind. In my list there are: Xperia U, Defy 525 and Google Nexus i9020t.

Hey folks.
I've just pretty much read the whole thread, and it's very useful indeed! I'm trying to weigh up whether to get this phone or not. I can get it with Virgin (Uk) for £7.50 per month (rising to £15 after 6 months). They also offer free insurance worth £7.99 per month too. Really, it sounds like a no brainer!
However, I was in the Carphone Warehouse shop today and next to it was the Nokia Lumia 610. Have checked with Virgin & they have it for the same price. Now, I had pretty much decided I was getting the U, but on using the 610, I had a better feel for it. It seemed to work better. I wasn't overly keen on the display on the 610 though!
I'm totally confused by the U memory size though. I had read that it was 4g. I was fine with that. However, Carphone Warehouse advertised it as 8gb, and now Virgn are saying it's only 2gb!!
Is it a standard 4gb size, or are there different versions.
As far as I can see, Virgin are advertising this as Android 2.3 Should this have the ICS that everyone is talking about?
Xperia U or Nokia 610?? Cheers!

The total amount is 8 GB, but only 4 GB is at your disposal to be used in whatever way you want. The rest is reserved (2 GB for the system and 2 GB for other phone stuff).

ICS was released by Sony a couple of weeks ago, so if it is shipped with 2.3 from store you should be able to update it your self to ICS.
