Will definitely get the Z1 Compact, but it won't be for me, although I wouldn't mind (/ really love) playing with the awesome device. The Phone is a tad small for my hands, but would be perfect for it's intended owner.
Since I'm a T-Mobile USA customer, I'm hoping it'll get release on T-Mobile carrier soon, not because of T-Mobile bloatware, but solely due to price (installments plan). But If I get to choose, I'll definitely hope Sony Store USA will carry it, unlocked version, because I have a GE Financing that equal to T-Mobile's.
btw, currently there is only D5503 model? usually Xperia phones come with CXXX2, CXXX3 and CXXX6 versions. but looking at the bands, it have all the right bands for T-Mobile 4G LTE, 4G HSPA+ and 3G, so it's not like I need to choose.
Only decision I need to make is color, Black, White, Pink or Lime, all incredible colors.
awesome photos of the 4 color models I found on Xperia Blog,

Just orderd the white one changed from the bleck at the last moment , until now all my white phones were great, do not want to play with my luck
It is a pre order so they offer it together with the Sony MDR-10RC headphones not that I need them but it makes it even a better deal. (516€)

This will be the best-selling Sony ever by far. It should be at least. Sony are good at failing to market their products that happen to be best in class. For example: the Xperia tablet Z.

I think another factor, and a big one probably, that made the Tablet Z not sell well is its premium price. Tablets are more of a luxury than a need, it still doesn't have enough functionality to justify a premium price. That's why the Nexus 7 is selling very well. And that's what Sony needs to do, sell a cheaper one. But Sony is creating premium products, and they would be less willing to sell a product as cheap as the Nexus 7 with the same hardware. Google has so much money to not care about how much they will make, or lose, with creating such product with a very cheap price. Yet, it has been selling very well. It was a very small risk for them, and it still made them money. Sony is in no good status, and doing the same thing would be a bigger risk for them. Though, ironically and if what I believe that the Tablet Z did not sell well, the Tablet Z was also a big risk they took and it hurt them. Forget Apple and their iPads, they have a horde of zombies willing to hurt their wallets than their pride.
On the Compact, it is much more marketable. It's small and powerful, just what a lot of people want. I trust Sony would be aggressive on marketing this one.

It's Engadget. Vlad is jealous how negative the connotations were in the title of the Z Ultra review...
Anyway, I disagree strongly about the tablet. It was the tablet with the best form factor and was waterproof. It also had competitive specs, s600 appeared way later in tablets. It was on par with Apple in price. And for good reason. Marketing it wouldn't have been hard. Even die hard iPad fans loved it.
By the way, I noticed your comment on the Engadget review about the stupid negative. Whatever you do, don't read the iPA review. You'll kill yourself when you find out they set a new record for stupidity and mentioned the small screen as a negative.

I'm still pending on whether to buy the Z1s for T-Mobile, seems to have several common problems.
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/sony-xperia-z1s-problems/
Am I correct to believe that those problems would be fixed with a software updates (bug fixes) from Sony or is it a permanent hardware issues that require sending it to Sony for repair?
because if and update is all that it requires, I wouldn't mind picking one up now and wait for the updates, whenever it may be.
These problems seem to be common among Xperia phones as soon as it's releases, something with the Xperia T and TX as well, which if memory serves me right, an update made it all better.
