If true, wonder if Sony will get in on this as well and release something at maybe CES? Unlikely I feel.

Qualcomm Might Launch Snapdragon 865 In November, With Manufacturers Also Showcasing Prototypes Running On Chip
Recently, we came across a report suggesting that Samsung will not equip the next Exynos (Exynos 9830) with its custom Mongoose cores. While no official reasons behind the purported change have been provided to us, it's possible that the underlying currents affecting the mobile industry right now are behind it. ARM's heavily leaning towards making its solutions scale up to deliver notebook class performance, and Samsung might have deemed the Cortex A77 sufficiently performant to avoid designing custom cores.
According to
Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 865 early this year, in November, in order to keep up with Huawei. Naturally since the report is from China, a certain amount of favorable bias in regards to Huawei is to be expected. But, Qualcomm's relationship with Chinese customers is different from the manner in which the company interacts with their American counterparts. In China, Qualcomm regularly promotes local smartphone manufacturers using company's products and actively engages the public through social media channels.
On that note, today's report also suggests that Samsung, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi will showcase early prototypes running the Snapdragon 865. This neatly falls in line with Qualcomm's Chinese strategy, as the San Diego based chip giant is facing stiff competition from Huawei. However, we're yet to see any leaks related to the Snapdragon 865's performance parameters, particularly with regard to core cluster frequency. As time passes, these details should become clear.
In the meantime, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We'll keep you updated on the latest.

There's evidence they are already developing a device with it. Maybe Sony would pull a Z Ultra move and release a device sooner than everyone.

Ya I recall seeing that last month, I meant, will Sony be part of this early prototype program, or will other manufactures with more sales get priority.

If it's a qualcomm thing they'll probably stick with the best selling brands. And if it's just a prototype thing I don't think it will matter much. But Sony wants in on 5g marketshare badly. Maybe they will try something to upend the more prominent names. And since sony is the only one with an evidence it could be possible we will see their device sooner, maybe even at that prototype showcase.

Makes sense, next year some countries won't even have 5G, or it won't be as widespread as it could be. Therefore releasing a 5G and 4G model makes sense.
I guess then at least 2 versions will be on the fcc, 4G and 5G model, with other regional variants as well for the different bands.

This weibo profile says a midrange + SD7xx + 5G for MWC
Does anyone know the final cost of Xperia?
For example the components of 11 pro max cost $490.

Don't think anyone does any cost assessments of xperia's anymore or they never did. I don't recall ever seeing one posted here.

S10+ cost 420
I don't think Xperia would cost too far below or above that. Xperia 1's biggest cost undoubtedly is the screen but other things are nothing special. When you consider the downgrades of the 5, it must be a considerable amount below of s10+'s.

Samsung has tons of in-house stuff.
It becomes cheaper.
Motion eye costs more than regular cmos too.
So wierd Japan still not using 5G.
I thought they would be #1 or #2 ....
Docomo will sell 5G phones just in April 2020
Someone please post sales of jul/aug/sep when it's out.
