T68 and mitsumi usb adaptor synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook as at Jan 2003

NB. There is no need to install the drivers that come with the USB dongle, I have reason to believe these will actually cause problems.

After much pulling of hair I discovered that you require two files from sonyericsson and one from extended and to follow these steps:

Install in this order:

XTNDConnectBlueManager.exe = bluetooth manager (15MB)

[reboot then plug-in usb dongle, put phone onto pair and accept, this will create a connection and at this stage you can send gif files etc to the phone. Go to the control panel, XTNDConnectBlue applet and select the 'Bluetooth Ports' tab, note which port is labelled SERIAL e.g. COM4. Now go into the 'Phone Monitor Options' applet and select the 'COM Ports' tab, set the Status value to enabled and the Reserved value to Yes only for the COM port that was set to SERIAL e.g. COM4]

Package1_1_5_1.exe = main suite (25MB)

PhoneMonitorModemDrivers_R2A04_english.exe = update and drivers (5MB)
[whilst you have a connection through the bluetooth manager, launch outlook and a new menu will appear 'Synchronize', select subitem 'Synchronize...' and the phone recognition wizard kicks in and you're home and dry. You'll also now see in the windows control panel under the 'Phone Monitor Options' that you phone has been picked up]

I have a problem installing Package 4 on WinXP with Outlook XP. It installes the XTNDConnect and then it says i have to reboot and run setup again to install the rest. But when i do this it just does the same thing over and over again. So i only get XTNDConnect and not the rest of the software package installed. What i really wanted was the SMS features in Outlook and these only come with the same package where XTNDConnect is.

Anyone know how to fix this? It's the same on 2 different computers.

I got XTNDConnect working and sync'ing with Outlook via Bluetooth. Just need the SMS plugin.

Thx
NinO

Hi hopeing someone can help me- are the software links above the correct software for an ericsson r520m??? I have downloaded them all and cannot seem to get them to work ...

If anyone has any guidence here it would be most appreciated as I have allready contacted ericsson support and they proved most unhelpful.

There response was no we do not make the cd's available, you can try downloading the sync software for the the t68...

Thanks in advance.

@enzominator, i tried the R2A suite on my R320 and it works. the R520 is later than the R320 so i suggest you try it.
