before the K750 and W800, I would have said I'd take the S700i over the K700i, but ONLY for the expansion slot, no other benefit would entice me, not even the 1.3MP cam. I would do it begrudgingly and I would miss my K700.
Now I don't have to, since the K750 and W800 are virtually K700's on steriods! Hopefully the K750 may be cheaper than the S700i (and the W800 will probably be similiar price to the s700i, but that's just my guess)

Oh and that swivel thing on my little brother's S700i is annoying and also the phone is big and heavy to carry around.

K700i - Excellent phone in terms of features and reliability BUT stickers fall off (Online & Quickshare). The 'Quickshare' sticker in particulary looks grubby and dirty. Oh and the battery charging flap has lost shape and won't sit flush.
7/10

hello all, here i am too with my new k700, its the best phone i have had yet but never was a big fan of getting something new, first time i get a phone with a camera on it. i like it , its fun and usefull.
I am a little confused about it. The battery it came with is a standard battery bst-35 700 mah. i get the message alien battery when charging. it has all its sonyericsson stickers on it look ok is made in japan finished in hungary. i saw people talking about this battery so i guess it exsits. does anyone else who has it get a message like that?
could it be a factory default and maby i have to take it back?
I saw this other k700 with the same battery and when charging it said that it was a fast charger so i tried my charger with it and it sid the same thing and when using my phone with his charger it was like using mine.
i am confused sorry for the long message
could anyone help me here
thanx in advance

If you bought it new in the packaging it should have an SE batt. Make sure the writing is actually SE's logo etc, and not just something like "Sony Ericsson K700" (which could simply mean it's made for a K700, doesn't necessarily mean it's an SE battery).
Alien Battery is the message for non-SE batteries, so I would go back to the shop you bought it from and ask for your SE battery! SE don't support non-SE batteries, and they may void your warranty if you use one! (probably not though)

Love the phone!! Though if u got offered £200.00 would u sell it??
Overall, feature wise brilliant and compact.
Worst thing is the build quality.
A phone on its own, i would rate it 8.5/10
Compared to newer phones i'd rate it 7/10

Its amazing how much files the K700i can store,heres what I got: 47 pics = 813KB , 36 mp3+4 polys=11MB , 68 videos = 20MB , 30 Games = 4.9MB , 0 Apps and 0 Other . Still got 2.170 MB free memory left :-]

But you should have to add, the size of most pictures is max. 320x240, the mp3s are tones only, and the games are probably "weak", because just the SCPT3D and the SuperTennis are 0,5MB together.
Don't misunderstand me, I have no problem with k700i, but this sounds dazzle without facts.

The K700i file storage efficiency dazzles me:
2.3MB, 67 Pics (2/3 of those 640x480 photos)
326KB, 17 sounds (no mps at the mo')
9MB, 17 Videos (great trailer collection)
965KB, 9 themes
6.8MB, 56 games (some huge 250KB plus, some small 30KB or less)
1.4MB, 19 Apps
570KB, Other (word docs, pdf's)
19MB free.
