Well that was stupid of SE Sweden. Who cares if VGA sucks to much battery life. Its not like you are going to be using the phone solely as a video recorder.

its probably the vga screen res which sucks battery and not so much the vga video and sony ericsson decided theres no point in putting vga video in a phone with a qvga screen. Just like why widescreen video cameras record their videos in widescreen.

Agreed. If all phone makers were so concerned about battery life then we would not see 3G, GPS and WiFi on phones. Thank goodness that not all makers think the same way. But maybe the Swedes have a good reason for thinking that customers rather have long battery life and poor video quality than the other way around...

So why do you don't see VGA screens on the Nokia's phones that can shoot
VGA@30fps?

I think all phone makers are concerned about battery life otherwise we'd all have phones that lasted only half a day and whats the point of that? Carrying a pocketfull of batteries each time you wanted to go on a day out? No thanks.
