In the pictures you can see the D-Pad backlit only when the Walkman player is on, so i think it's normal...

My comments on the phone now still good but a few niggles:
The phone has no decent bass compared to the C905's single speaker. The W995 stereo speakers inbuilt are not good but the additional speaker solves that. I think they missed out Mega Bass on this phone.
The Wi-fi has a longer range than the C905 how come this is? I can travel further away from the router and still get a signal?
There's no software bugs yet all the keys work without a reboot. Radio works with the speaker that's an interesting addition.

no youtube or any streaming over wifi on my w995, very disappointing but hopefully will be sorted out when the shop replace my faulty(full of software/quality problems) phone on tuesday.

The left top bottom of the screen area wobbles quite a bit when I press with fingers. Is this normal? Also, I feel the battery cover near the memory stick side seems press down slightly when you press as if it just didn't lock in firmly. Also, it's irritating how the kickstand pops out when I try to put phone in the pocket. I am getting used to putting it with screen facing front of pocket so the latch doesn't pop out.
I am going to check another phone in store and see if all W995s have the problem. Is they do, I will return the phone as it's already bothering me that the convinent feature to change profiles by pressing power button is lost here. I have to use # to set to silent mode or have to do couple of clicks to get to other profiles.

WTF happened to Bookmarks in the Walkman player!!?? In my W960 I used it all the time when listening to e-books. Neither can I filter small sound files like ringtones. When playing "random all" I get to listen to a lot of sounds mixed with my music. Development reversed, or... ?
I have to make my e-books in M4B-format to make this work... = a lot of work!!!

@mange69: I think the W960 is UIQ, while W995 is a feature phone (A200) AFAIK, feature phones from SE havent incorporated bookmarks in the Walkman Player (yet?)

The media player doesn't appear to have the "bookmark" feature as I've looked as well!
Listen to audiobooks in m4a or mp3 formats and can't find the "bookmarks" which really kills using the Walkman to hear audiobooks!
Have the features tagged for bookmarks when listening on the iPod but when transferred files to phone's Walkman, it's gone. Guess it's up to the software to support them!

Is it me or are the later models of the W995 becoming more faulty and the early first ones are more reliable? I think that's a first with SE if that's the case,
