zomgbbqftw says the Z2 is confirmed as the only 2014 flagship and also for anyone from us - us support will be good - tmobile, verizon, sprint: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=611546&page=330
"It's happening. Three carriers for the Z2. I got confirmation from a non-Sony source today that the Z2 is going to be the single global flagship and will come to T-Mobile US, Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Sony's first serious CDMA device.
The next step is to get the E1 into Wal-Mart and other big box stores as a cheap $150 prepaid phone."

ok, if everything goes well with these devices then my next phone is going to be either the Z2 or the Z2 Ultra. i wonder when they are going to announce the Ultra. i bet at its own event somewhere in Q2-3.

from zomgbbqftw

On the Z Ultra successor, I saw someone ask about it earlier.

The ZU has not been hugely successful, it has done okay, but not what they wanted, it barely made a dent in the Note 3.

The feedback is that it is too big, and that it needs to have a Wacom pen that integrates into the body. I think the T2U size is perfect, and we may see the Z2U go down to that size and gain a Wacom pen. The "any capacitive pen" input feature is noticeably absent from the T2U, mainly because no one uses it on the ZU.

I like how some one at Sony thought, hey let's make the note 3 competitor bigger and no wacom pen, sounds good huh, I know, brilliant.

Sony needs a real note 3 competitor, not some gimmick with pencil input, no one will use a friggin pencil on a screen, wacom is where it was always at and always will be. How did samsung get to where they are at, technically by copying apple, Sony needs to do the same and copy samsung's note 3, not 100% but it's best features like large battery, wacom input pen built into body and up to 6inch, no larger.

@ascariss
I agree that sony needs to go in the note 3/lumia 1520 way. but not necessarily mean implementing a built in pen. the most important thing is that they need to do:
1. they need to think of the z ultra devices as a second flagship device - that means having better specs then the Z2, no compromise, bigger battery, at least the same camera of Z2 with flash.
2. unique software features for ultra's big display without making the UI laggy. 4 GB of ram should take care of that, right?
3. unique hardware features like whitemagic and pixel eyes, for example. fingerprint scanner that works like the iphone has, gloves mode, etc. they already made it really nice with water and dust proof and sony unique design. they just need to continue. the phone will be a bit fatter especially because of the waterproof design but its a good compromise overall. people complain on big bezel, not on phone thickness.

I like the fact it's oversized, and I really like the pencil input.

If they are changing these two things I'll go out and buy Z Ultra this week and not wait for Z2 Ultra

I'm sorry, but... What's pixel eyes? The only thing Google got as a result were eyes made of pixels, and I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to a smartphone lol

BTW If you go on the Sony Mobile site, on the T2 Ultra page, under characteristics, and then SocialCam App, they list a new app called PORTRAIT RETOUCH! It has a pink icon with a half pixelated face!!:)

Another thing... In the XPERIA E1 page Sony describe this phone as "the best in his category"... And then there's a statement from a company I do not recall the name which states: "Xperia E1 is the best smartphone avaible with an initial starting point under 175€" WHAT? Will it cost under 175€???:)
Bear in mind that I read this on the Italian SonyMobile site!
