Well now based on Play.com's new date and what Eldar is saying about a July release it looks like that Mobileshop.com date of 22/05 is looking like it won't happen.
Edit: Phoned Mobileshop.com and they are still claiming they have been given a date of 22/05 by SE.

and the good news out of all this is the fact that they will not release it until it is 100% technically ok which is good news for us.
know that the dates they gave were incorrect at first but overall a working product is better than a early released problematic product.

why is everyone fretting over this release date?
pages and pages of this thread are now devoted to useless speculation, mostly repetitive and to the Nth degree, based on minimal information from largely unreliable sources, rather than discussing the phone itself
There is only one thing we can be totally sure of... The P990 will be available... when we hear from members of it actually being physical stock somewhere
surely there must be more interesting aspects of the P990 for us still to discuss?
