It's not about having no life. People who have paid for such an expensive phone would like it to run its functions without flaw.
The discovery of bugs comes naturally with everyday use. I doubt anyone here spends 2 hours straight looking for quirks in the phone.
Surely you have to be kidding. I use my phone every day, as well as my M600i and do not come across the amount of bugs that you and others seem to manifest almost daily. Second, yes the devices are expensive and no they will never be perfect. Many of us realize this and accept this as being part of the purchasing experience. However, there are a select group here that make it their life's goal to complain without ceasing about their software not being perfect. The more complex a phone becomes, the more things can go wrong. The options are very simple: 1. Buy it. 2. Don't buy it.

I dont mean to join the list of moaners here, but isn't it worth someone trimming this thread its nearly 80 pages of moaning and waffle, and very little about the actual firmware.
Perhaps there should be a seperate whingers thread.

Sony K800 phone contacts multi characters search is not working well.
Eg. type St and the 2nd character "t" did not bring the phone contact names to starting at St... but stays at the Sa... contacts names
Hope Sony can solve this minor issue in the next firmware..

A good thing would be an ESATO premium and ESATO Lite. The premium would be a paid version of ESATO where the more knowledgable and serious phone users could hang out while the lite version would be more of a public forum.
Hey Laffen, how does this sound.

Negative. You are incorrect. I have tested this in R1ED001 and it works.

This issue used to be region-dependent on the K750, as I recall. Western firmwares had multi-character search, but some eastern firmwares did not.
I have decided to buy an antique car klaxon, and to make it go "parp" every time sapporobaby goes off on one about firmware complaints or bad use of language, and then misspells non-sequitur.

hey, I doubt this is actually a bug in the phone but:
I'm trying to use my k800 as a dial up modem. It's connected via USB and using the SE Suite's Networking Wizard I enter in the usual details. When I try to connect the screen says connecting to (net number here) for a second then quickly dissapears. Then the computer comes back with an error message, something about dialing. It doenst reference hardware or anything like that....sorry i cant remeber of the top of my head. I am able to call the number successfully, just not using SE's software or windows.
anyways, have others been successful in dialing up? anyone know of a guide for this?
