Guys, I think the "yellow dot" issue is bigger then Sony wants to admit, it might be as bad as every SXS have it.

My new (second) SXS that I got few days ago has it... I wont send it back yet since I just installed everything on it again but if it get worse I am def going back with it :S

Mine has one dot over the right button and one under the top right corner, it also have a yellow wave under the top left corner...

I am really disappointed by this, sure you don't notice it right away and sometimes not at all if you have the "right" background or an icon where the dot is, but at other times it's really annoying.

The thing is I love the SW in the SXS, mainly the music player with all its fun and usable details and I love the design of the phone so this is really hard now, I don't know what to do.

Seems HTC One X suffers from this too (not sure if there is any common factor).

If the phone were to freeze, how would you reset it since you can't pull the battery out? I'm looking to get this or a Xperia P.

There's a key combination for reboot.

^ Good question. Wondering the same thing. Had a minor freeze using skype. phone became unresponsive. But thankfully pressing the power button for a long time got the phone to restart.

Volume Up + POWER (for 10 seconds) -> resets the battery, its like removing the battery and putting it back in [device will vibrate once]

Volume Up + POWER (for additional 5 seconds, total 15 seconds) -> will power off hard, device will power down [device will vibrate thrice]

Thanks, no need to worry then. Why all the initial fuss about a non-removable battery then? I'm loving the Xperia S but the finish on the Xperia P is too nice, the screen is amazing as well. The first time in a long while that I've wanted a /Sony device.

Isn't the yellow dot issue solved with handsets later as week9. I heard it was because of the glue the used.
