How can I speak to SONY? Even if I try, how would they help me? They would say it is normal...
I'll send my Z back soon and buy it again from other shop...
It's a shame what SONY did. A more than $800 luxury device with this poor screen!!!

I can understand where you coming from. I still think you should talk to Sony Center and show them the difference of Black Colour between Arc S & XZ

This is indeed a shame what Sony neglected!

That's a damn shame mate, sorry to hear about your Z not living upto expectation, seems to be becoming a trend with Sony flagship smartphones year after year.
Maybe it's just a bad unit?

New Flashtool beta (v0.9.10.1b) adds support for Xperia Z

We have already seen the Sony Xperia Z (C6603) release in a few select markets and it is expected to see a wider European launch over the next week. For those buying the handset on a carrier and looking to debrand the Xperia Z, then you will need to use Flashtool and flash the phone with the desired FTF file. The process of flashing the handset will be the same as any other Xperia device, however your current version of Flashtool (v0.9.10.1) will not work.

This is as a number of features have changed in the Xperia Z bootloader including partition changes. A new Flashtool beta (v0.9.10.1b) has been created to cater for the Xperia Z. This beta version is a heavily-slimmed down version of Flashtool, for example it cannot be used to create bundles. Expect to see a number of Xperia Z FTF firmware files pop up over the next week, a French version is already doing the rounds on xda-developers. The Flashtool beta can be downloaded from here.

No, it's not a random! I'm not alone! In a german forum Xperia Z users drive crazy about that screen and they discuss it allday, making comparisons like I did, to show how it looks... The most people are dissapointed like me, but for some, they don't care...

I could't make it to Sony Center this week due to lack of time.

I will do it next week.

About the screen:
I will examine this. However I still remember the panic about T yet I bought it and it's great.

I think people often get obsessed about one particular thing. Maybe there are things where Z screen is not perfect yet the reviews and screenshots just often show the opposite.

when I came up to this forum explaining the issues with the Xperia T screen some users said that I'm a troll. Well, time has proved me to be right, Sony has serious problems with their screens.

Never bothers me that it's a bit grey rather than black. It's not AMOLED or Clear Black tech is it?? Not as far as i am aware. And as Doministry said people become a little over obsessed with this. Sometimes a new phone your eyes need to adjust to the screen I often find that. The XT screen is good and people moaned saying that looked washed out

is there any news about the US release? on the sony site, it's say coming soon, but I wonder if it's coming only on AT&T or more carriers or even an unlocked version. is there any news on any difference from the other version release? hardware or band-wise. Is there actually two version, LTE and HSPA+ version? can they not have those two in one phone or am I mistaken/misunderstood? I ask because I'm on T-mobile USA network which uses HSPA+ 4G and not LTE 4G, but T-mobile is planning on switching/upgrading to LTE 4G either this or next year. Xperia Z seems to be a keeper and I wouldn't want to be stuck between or having to switch over. even if I have to buy an unlocked international version.

any news at all?

Here is what I got. Xperia Z will be on T-Mobile in the US. AT&T is getting the H2 flagship. There will be a US variant of the phone C6606 that supports T-Mobile LTE and AT&T LTE. It will be available in about 3 months because the deal with the carrier was done very late.

That would be awesome if it does come to T-Mobile. but then I'll look at price and branded. If I don't like the T-mobile version, hopefully I can buy an unlocked version.
