I wasn´t sure if I should start a new thread or not...
I have just got my K750i and although it has the build number 05KW28 it came with R1A044. When connecting to my PC via Bluetooth the other day the phone seemed to lock twice. Then this morning I tried to send an SMS to the maximum 20 contacts to announce my new number and the screen took a while to update and at one point some text overlapped another window/text.
I decided to call the SE Call Center here in Germany and was given two places where I can it upgraded. I asked them what the latest firmware version was and I was told R1N005. So, it seems that if you go to a service center they have a version newer than via SEUS.
I will be away for 2wks so will get it done when I come back.

My camera has not worked at all since upgrading R1L002 - I flashed it with DaVinci software and reflashed it twice on SE.
Is there anyone else out there with the same problem and are just waiting on SE to fix it in the next release
I hope this is not a HW problem? as I got the phone on Ebay, so cnat return it

Hope SE release a new FW soon, as my phone crashed two times already in two weeks. Not bad compared to the t310, but still.

Another fob off from Sony Ericsson...
Here's what I sent..

Subject: Firmware Upgrade
Sir/Madam,
Despite my previous attempts to ascertain whether a newer firmware OTHER than R1L002 is planned for release to restore the bitrate performance of the video recording function of my K750i to that of the R1A044, all I have received from yourselves are vague or standardised response emails.
I understand that due to your confidentiality policies regarding software update releases, you are not prepared to disclose exact release dates, so all I am asking is, can you tell me if there is a newer firmware planned for release at some point and if the said problem with the video will be addressed.
I look forward to your response
Alex M******

@alex
Same here - SE replies are so pathetic I couldn't be bothered to post their reply here mate - not a criticism of you or this forum. I have yet to get SE to accept they have botched up on any problem I mail them.
Still at least they are sorry, for something.

With 203,751 views of this thread, I just feel that the more people who post on this thread about problems that they have with the firmware and the more people who email and badger SE will, at the end of the day go some way towards making them sit up and realise that there are a great many people out there VERY unhappy with the HUGE drop in the video recording performance and other issues and that they need to sort this out at their earliest opportunity.
I'm sure there are many people with the K750i who, like me, are waiting day after day for a firmware upgrade to sort out the problems which ruin an otherwise excellent phone.
I will wait and keep waiting, but I think it does no harm to post on here about firmware issues and at the end of the day, it might even do some good.. who knows!

Generally speaking SE release a new firmware at a frequency somewhere between every few days (if the previous firmware contains serious bugs) and up to 3 months (if the previous firmware was relatively stable).
It is approaching 2 months since R2L was released, which is a pretty stable firmware despite it's flaws. From past records I would imagine a new firmware to be released some time in August.
Of course, I am just inferring this from the frequency of firmware releases from previous SE phones, so don't take my prediction as gospel!

@ mwarner, you're observations are quite true.
I've always believed SE tended to release new firmware every 3 months or so, unless they need to fix a major bug then they release new firmware much sooner.
Personally i cannot wait for the next firmware release, in the hope that they will restore the K750i's original video capture quality. Everything else on the phone im happy witgh, except maybe i wish they'd speed up browsing pictures you've taken in 2mp.

mickg007: my camera disappeared in a similar way and it WAS a hw problem. I took it to my local service centre and they got it repaired for me. As the phone obviously isnt over a year old they should just take it and repair it without any proof of purchase.

My camera has stopped working twice so far and I've fixed it myself by taking my phone apart and pushing home the connector (first time at the mainboard end and second time at the camera end).
SE Support told me it was a firmware issue and they would be releasing a fix for this imminently over a month ago
Good job it wasnt or i'd still be waiting
