@ Jojo,
Unfortunately it's not an impossibility, but having said that, it's (fortunately) far, far less likely to happen here.
Handguns have been totally banned for about 10 years now, but rifles and shotguns can still be purchased if you can convince the police of your sporting or work-related intentions.
Owning a handgun for self-defence was regarded as an insufficient reason as far back as 1946... what a contrast to America's 'Right To Bear Arms' lobby.

There has been 23-odd killings in London this past year (out of a city of millions), but while most of these are knife-related, there are indeed some that are illegal firearm related.

So for a Columbine-type situation, the lack of readily available firearms in the first place is going to be an obvious obstacle in itself.
Yes there are gangs around with guns etc, but the occasional/ seldom gun deaths here are usually rival gang related.

LOL, Jojo.
Nah mate, blackmailing and threats from 11 year old kids? Nope. School pupils don't have to pass here, they automatically go through to the next grade , thus staying with their age group, irrespective how they've done academically. Very different to the system I grew up with in SA and the system by you, by the sounds of things. It's all 'masters of their own destinies' here.

Anywayz, it's my beddy-bye time now. Got lots to get through tomorrow. Have a good Thursday, matey. G'night.
