That's one of the aspects of the system here which pisses me off tremendously, Wanqa. They've couched it in the most poetic terminology, i.e. "in order for the learner to progress both holistically and psychologically, he must progress with his age cohort, except in exceptional circumstances etc etc" Why the hell they can't just say "pass one, pass all" is beyond me. Should a child be so weak that he needs to repeat a grade, there are literally reams of paperwork to be completed and a long list of requirements to be met before it happens. Even then, it takes the condonation from an Educ.Departmental Head Noodle before it happens... and should the parents feel that the child should progress to the next grade, nothing short of an act of God will prevent the child from going through.

LOL, it's become so easy that it makes me want to go back to school myself!
