The backplate of T39 has nothing to do with plastics! It is Magnesium based and same metals are used in airplanes made by SAAB. This message was posted from a T39

I've bought that T68m Lunar Grey for 60€, but the T39m is the phone of my heart and I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a motherboard. One day that phone will ride again.

I totally agree with you Tigas !

Right now I'm using the t68i I bought last week, and it cannot make me forget my t39. I guess it's a good phone, but as we are talking about the magnesium frame of the t39, this bloody t68i squeaks when I use it !

It's definitively not as rigid as the t39. When I play or dial phone numbers there's a horrible plastic noise that did not occur with my t39... I suppose it has to do with the possibility of changing covers too...

Well, guys, I'm now the happy user of a fully functioning T68 with 68i software, but I still have my T39m; meanwhile, I turned the T39m on after a week of rest and it had network, so I am still going to SE service to get the firmware upgraded to R4A008 to see if that solves the "No Network" problem. (There's supposedly a problem with a coil overheating on the R2something firmware, which my T39m has)

How expensive is it, to upgrade the firmware? The phone is (of course) out of warranty...
