Yes, definitely. Buying from local, firstlyl the sets are all IDA approved. secondly it will be under warranty. Buying an export set, the specification may not be the same as our local requirement. Should any thing goes wrong, SE Singapore will not hold any responsibility to those handsets without the IDA stickers on it. Or should there be any new sw for upgrading SESC may not do it for you or if they do they will charge you a very much higher price for export set. And also if anythings goes wrong on your phone after the upgrading, the SC will still charge you if you send back for re-checking or rectification.

It is possible to change your cover although it'll set you back about $60+, can't remember the exact figure. My friend has done this at goldhill and it includes a new keypad. But he just had his cover replaced and so I do not know whether they will allow another different cover to be used as replacement. i..e Lunar grey->arctic blue
But it is confirmed they will do it with your original coloured cover.
