Can't you just get the OEM version from amazon.co.uk?

It's a hell of a lot cheaper than the retail version and exactly the same, except you don't get the pretty box and booklet!

Well, yeah basically! That's how it's always worked, I guess

Check this out:

Windows XP prices on Amazon.co.uk

£167.98 for the Retail version

£54.98 for the OEM version

Absolutely bonkers

lol, my partitions were looking like a train wreck (so much for getting my dad to install my os's, i'd have done it properly )

i had 512mb space left on xp
1gig left on vista
5gigs left on ubuntu
2 gigs in xubuntu
20gb linux swap

and 360gigs unallocated space

the big format button on the Ubuntu live cd never seemed so appealing

"No not really" and "probably not" are the answers as I suspect you already know!

Is this another bit of Linux propaganda?

It looks like I have deleted my photos from my folder, I'm not sure how, but they appear to be missing. I had emptied the trash folder earlier, and have tried to do a system restore to try and pull them back, but no joy.

Is there anyway of getting them back, or are they lost forever.

Its juz a stupid guess but if u r sure u or ne1 hav'nt deleted n if ur other folder also disapears juz like dat, can it b a virus.

can you still see it in windows explorer (near the bottom)

edit: I'll assume you somehow deleted the icon from the desktop so...

right click on the desktop.
click personalize.
In the window that comes up there should be a blue column on the left.
under tasks click change desktop icons. put a tick in the box that says recycle bin.
