ha ha, I am being honest. I don't expect anyone to want to buy this, I it's under apples return policy anyway
and course I took it to bits, bumped the hd to 1tb
but then when I found out how bad it is It went right back to the 500gb, good thing is now because I do this so often I doubt apple could tell lol

My bf borrowed my comp and played music off it with speakers he plugged in.
Now I can't change the volume and it plays no sound even though the volume is at full. Below the pop-up volume symbol (when you hit the inc/dec v buttons) is a "no" symbol as in a circle with a line through it.
I tried plugging in headphones, and the sound worked fine, but when I unplugged them it went back to the same state.
I tried changing my preferences here:
system preferences>sound>output
All that's in the box is, "headphones, built in output" or if I unplug them it says, "digital out, built in output"
How do I get my sound settings back to normal?

After poking around this section, I noticed a lot of the Esato members are mac users... so I got a bit curious
Can a mac mini (1.83ghz intel 2 duo, 1gb of ram) run some of the more simple games (WC3, Starcraft, Soldier of fortune 2) smoothly? ATM I have a basic PC with 1gb of ram, some AMD Sempron (like 1.5ghz) and an ATI Radeon with 64mb of memory, so I'm guessing it can seeing as they are identical. Also, this one is very important, can a Mac and a PC share an internet connection (through home networking)?

@rowan
my macbook has the same problem
when i plug in headphones it reads them as an optical output source, so i cant have any external headphones or speakers because it doesnt accept them..
luckily i've got an old stereo with optical input

Thats pretty simple to fix, basically the sensor somehow got bent hence why you not gettin any audio. Simple fix at your own risk obviously.
Take the head of a match stick and stick it inside and wiggle around a little and you should see the red light go on, and voila you have audio back on your speakers.
Be gentle but it works.

Hello folks,
Ok I'm having some problems with my mac / iphone.
Basically i connect the iphone to my mac and then open iphoto and it won't show the iphone? so i can't sync any photos from the iphone onto my mac.
I have googled this but can't find anything to sort this problem out.
