Firmware R1EA035 is out. Google maps with latitude is introduced with this firmware version and Camera software ver 1.7 handles low light much better without having to tweak any settings. Have yet to notice any other changes so far

Have also noticed the new Facebook application under 'Messaging' which is quite handy!

Last black phone I had was during the Ericsson days. W995 is my first black SE since I felt all black coloured SE phones looked dull before. Not anymore, I feel that my black W995 stands out in the crowd. But this is very subjective and it boils down to your preference at the end of the day

Anyway, I'm so proud of my baby for winning the EISA Awards 2009-2010 No way it could've won using anything less than HPM-88 with its preset equalizers The Panel must've listened to it with HPM-88 using my equalizer settings Well rightly so, W995 sounds absolutely fabulous to my ears

Are you sure?
Is it not a case of the more volume the better for you?

I can attest to the fact that this phone does sound brilliant, I concur that this is overall the best walkman phone, heck, the best feature phone by SE in a very long time.

And now the reports suggest that Aino is even better! It means Sony has really worked on the sound quality part and SE is once again at the forefront in the music department. Pity about their overall phones.

Congratulations to them on this one, well deserved in my opinion.

@pt020
are you saying the because the volume is louder and maybe because the w800 has more bass?

if you think volume and bass are the only 2 things that determine (good) SQ then you are oh so wrong!

the w995 is MORE than loud enough. having your music too loud via earphones can actually cause hearing damage in the long run. and the bass, well the bass is, again, more than enough. And its definately a lot clearer/smoother than what the w800 was...
