Three options in my opinion ...
1) maybe the Semicon won't be able to deliver enough sensors to start sales in March. Imx400 was announced in early february, so far no words on new one. Could be a sign that 666 might be the one, it is not out yet.
2) They will again start mass production just after the event. Then test the devices to make sure all are fine.
3) They can present just the QHD version with 3 rear cameras, charge you $1000. Some ppl buy it. Then in late April from nowhere they announce a 4K phone with 4 rear cams for $1400. So ppl who bought the QHD try to sell it to buy the 4K. In the end they win .... 😏😏😏
Option 3 reminds me of M4/ M5 story .....

if you ask me, if i know the new one is using 666 or not, i have no answer with that, but i can say, 400 is 1.22um already, 666 is only 1.0um

Sensor skills depends on the tech, pixel size is not that important.
Newer sensors are always better.
220 is 1.2 micron, 300 is 1.12 or 1.08 micron.
The 300 is better sensor than 220.
Look at their Alpha.
7s2 is 12MP, 7r3 is 42 and 9 is 24MP.
7r3 pics look better than 7s2 at 12MP, even with pixels almost 4x smaller.
No binning is used.
Pixel 1 uses 1.55 micron, the other use 1.4.
Moto G5+ uses 1.4, G7+ uses 1.2 or 1.12.
And 666 is Quad Bayer .. ✌️
The are gossips that it might be 1/1.5 instead of 1/1.8.
Sadly, almost 3 weeks left ...
