guys put a search in google for "gtel gprs." There is no point in changing the lettering because there are perhaps 100s of anonymous indian visitors to this thread and word will spread by mouth.

@aragorn666
I think you haven't entered the proxy address for HTTPS protocol. Bcoz, at the time of sending username & Password to their server for verification, they use SSL.

Its becoming extremely tough to use gtel Gprs nowadays.. Even the sites which can be opened witout any trick don't open or take a helluva time to open. Yesterday i had a talk wit cc who was a real dumbo like his other brothers back there.. He hasn't heard of the word edge.. I asked him whether gtel had introduced edge in up then he was confused but later i explained to him what it was.. Then he said no , it hasn't been introduced.. But he is wrong Becoz just 5days ago i did a speed test on zdnetindia which showed speeds of 80kbps and this is only achievable when the network supports edge.. And not otherwise.. I had checked this from other sites which said that a normal Gprs can give max speeds upto 48kbps ... Guys correct me if am wrong..

Guys,
I recommend Mozilla Firefox for this trick. Earlier I told you that Opera is best. But it has problems. IE is slow.

@jingboyx
Try clearing cache & cookies. It may work. But Yahoo has too many problems with cookies. So you have to clear cookies inorder to login.
@rahul_mk
Now more than 60% of GTEL users know about this trick. So decrease in speed is obvious.

@everybody on this thread... Guys i am having problems in getting opera mini modded 1.20 to work..... Perhaps i'll just write down the steps which i have taken... 1)i am using a 6600 & i downloaded the opera mini modded version which arragorn posted v1.20. 2)oppened v1.20 changed the HTTP:proxy settings to gtel live proxy and port...didnt change nething in the "address for joining" area. 3)then i clicked on some bkmark it connected to gtel live1 & then it said "error occurred" 4)minimized opera mini opened my phone browser did spartan's cnbc trick...and when it connected to gtellive2 immediately minimised the phone browser and opened opera mini... Then i typed esato on google search... It still says "an error occured"... Guys is there ne thing wrong i've done. May b it never works on a 6600... Pls HELP!
