i thought they were obeying the iso-3166 country codes for the region languages - but bp and xl aren't in the spec, so either they're not obeying it at all, or bp and xl are internal usage.. ?

I think AE is American English, and BP (should actually be PB) is Portuguese Brazilian. Not sure about XL though.

AE = American English
BP = Brazilian Portuguese
XL = Latin American Spanish

If anyone has tried RIN005 on SEUS, can you please give us an update and tell us about it?

Hi,
New member here, and I've decided to get a W800.
Been looking at this below from page 1 of this thread. My question is, as a "T-Mobile" W800 doesn't support the SEUS, does it also mean if a W800 bought on Virgin network, who also uses T-Mobile's network can't use the SEUS.
I was thinking of joining Virgin contract because they unlock their phones for free and was hoping that it would mean I can use any firmwares.
Any answers much appreciated as I would like to purchase the phone very soon.
Regards,
Wasabi
"Firmware updates will require the installation of the Sony Ericsson K750/D750/W800 Update Service USB driver before visiting the K750 SEUS. Follow the instructions carefully.
This service currently works for the following phone brands:
Unbranded - Yes
O2 UK - Yes
Orange UK - Yes
Vodafone UK - Yes
T-Mobile UK - No

@wasabi
O2 phones are already unlocked and the O2 network has better coverage.

I used the davinci software to flash my phone. Originally it had the chinese T9, english and some other asian languages.
After I used the "america2" flash file I got the spanish (XL) t9/menus as wel as the portuguese, (PB) the chinese for some weird reason wasn't deleted. And I still have the english (AE) menus, but NO the t9 !!! So be careful if you use this service, and also you have to pay 10 euros to use it, if you don't the software will still flash your phone but in the 'finalization' phase when it tries to check your password (given to you by davinci AFTER you pay) if you don't have a valid name/password it will give you an error message on the pc and your cell phone WON'T turn on!!!!!! Beware of this!!!

Thanks for your advice.
The reason I'm still thinking of Virgin is because
http://www.onestophoneshop.co.uk has a virgin deal which is 10month's free rental on anytime200 plus Virgin gives 6month's half price rental (£15 instead of £30) making the total cost for 18months £150 or £8.33/month!
The answer to my question, just found it on another thread
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=100216
"I'm not sure if unlocking will resolve it, but Virgin have now blocked the update service via the SE website. It worked when I got my phone but now it says the provider doesnt allow it."
That solves this issue, however, the deal is extremely good!!! Don't know what to do.
